I would love him just the same and be glad that he feels open enough with us to share.

No matter he is gay or not gay, it may always conclude on his lifestyles too...Because even if he is gay, but his personal or private life is reasonable or OK, then we surely need to know how to make sure all effect has cut to minimum after something like that been announced.

You cannot deny some pastors in today's church are gay, but some they just keep as secret and some they didn't do anything bad or having some "thingy" u know? so if he is honest to the church but he didn't do anything wrong, then why reject him directly or throw him out or stone him?

Except some that do have personal life that involved too many people or "thingy" then maybe is time for church leaders to sit down and see what is the best solution or seek advice from all church members as one family.

Pastor still human/brother in Christ/part of church family, so you won't kill one of your family member when they told u they are gay right? same as your pastor when he told you he is gay, all should learn how to find out better solution than directly "kill him"...i think that is more neutral answer la :)

I dont think that I would leave the church nor will I judge him being gay myself its hard to find a church that excepts people for the life or choose their sexuality, continue to support and Praise the LORD. The preacher is just their to preach the word.
Stone him to death thats harsh.

No stoning, no leaving the church, and I'd support him in prayer and any other way possible. However, in most denominations today, if a clergyman announces such a thing, they are immediately removed from their position.

Since you use the term preacher, I assume you mean a Christian church. The proper response is to remove him from the church and "de-frock" him. Place him under a watch group. If he repents (really), and agrees to stop, then he can eventually be restored to fellowship, but he must never be allowed to preach again since he already abused the position of Pastor.

What would be the purpose of the announcement?

To inform people? Or Repentance?

either way, The results would be done Scriptural.

(assuming he is a new testament preacher)

i guess it would all be a personal opinion. I wouldn't leave unless the church shut down. I'd support him, unless there were alligations against him... and then I'd be indifferent until the facts were put in front of me.

i would leave the church, pray for him that god save him & his soul b/4 the rapture. pray to god that he repents, asks for forgiveness , sincere forgiveness b/4 he passes away, gets his life right b/4 the coming of the lord.
pray that he gets right, or gets left.
i couldn't support him b/cause that's against god & no i wouldn't stone him to death because no one's perfect in this world & we all make mistakes. who are we to stone someone? who are we to judge? only jesus christ can judge him.
remember, we are all sinners. there's none perfect, no not one.

He wouldn't really be a preacher, bc a preacher has to be a man of God. I would leave, or ask him to leave.
