Go for it. The worst he can do is say no. Plus it is very flattering for a girl to ask a guy.

A guy is more likely to yes then a girl because we almost never get asked out so it's a lot more flattering when we do.

It's fine for a girl to tell a guy she likes him. We're way past the time when it's always up to the guy to initiate everything. My wife asked me out first and it's fine.
