Slang is what is used in the streets kind of like when people call you homie, or say mula (Spanglish) for money. Most people (teenagers) understand and can still carry on a conversation

Jargon is when people use highly academic language in every day talk. Educational jargon for example is when teachers begin speaking about multicultural pedagogy at their schools and how maybe they're not serving their low SES students enough...to most ears that turns out a huh?

Slang - A kind of language occurring chiefly in casual and playful speech, made up typically of short-lived coinage (new word) and figures of speech that are deliberately used in place of standard terms for added raciness, humor, irreverence, or other effect.

Jargon - The specialized or technical language of a trade, profession, or similar group. ( ie techno babble)
- Speech or writing having unusual or pretentious vocabulary, convoluted phrasing, and vague meaning
