I knew a girl that would not enter my apt because I had a painting with an owl on it.She said it was a bad thing and it was in the bible.I had never heard this before.

No, it doesn't say that anywhere in the Bible. God created owls, so they must be good.

She may be practicing some sort of syncretized Christianity based religion, but I've been a Christian my entire life and my mother's favorite bird is the owl. She had them all over the house and we never had any problem with our friends or family coming into our home. Her marriage did end in a divorce, but that would have happened regardless of the owls or not.

Yes, if you believe the story of Lilith, who's symbol is the Screech Owl. There is one verse in the Old Testament that speaks of an owl in a tree... this is in reference to Lilith, who was considered a demon/succubus by the Hebrew people of that time.
I don't know of any other place in the bible that speaks of owls in a bad light. Rather superstitious of your friend to be that way as well.

The Owl in native american lore is to be a bringer of news of a death if hooting outside your House in the morning thats the only bad refrance i know to the Owl

tell ur mate that even if it was true, its just a symbol. thats like avoiding the snake enclosure at the zoo coz satan used a snake to decieve Eve. lol, doesnt she know she has power over all that as a beleiver?
maybe she is a different religion

No. I have read the bible several times. It doesn't say that anywhere in the Old Testament or New Testament.
