To Jehovahs Witnesses that are truly Witnesses: I just very recently wandered upon this site. I as a general rule don,t talk to anyone on the net unless I know them. I thought I could offer help to those asking about God. It seems this could be very depressing to Witnesses, what about apostates, it seems like there are some here toying with minds, isn,t this a dangerous place for True Brothers and Sisters to be? We should all give it a very deep second thought and help those we can see face to face, I,m very concerned about this. Are we exsposing our self to unnecessary ridicule? I,ve been baptised since 1986 and the world is getting worse we all know this, maybe this is getting to envolved, Please enlighten me on your feelings about this, Ps. I,m disabled and unable to go out as much as I would like but I write alot of letters to interested ones and go out in Ministry at least once a week and go to all the meetings. please only kind answers to this serious question are we helping?

Since I,ve posted this I,ve already seen the good that it has done for others. Like Lillie I too use this for a way to witness the Good News of the Kingdom to others. We realise how important it is to do this. I was enjoying looking up material and sharing it with others until I saw a ridiculous Question posted about Jehovahs Witnesses and it hurts feelings when you know jehovahs Witnesses are the most loving kind individuals you will ever know. many hours are used every month to preach and teach to our neighbors. And contrary to what others believe, we don,t get paid money for it, but we reap great blessings from our God Jehovah and Our King Jesus Christ. I just want to be sure that doing this is right, I too count this as time in the Ministry. Each of you I thank for helping me make my descision to keep on answering are not.

I really appreciate the time each of you have spent to help me have the right views of this website. I suppost its like everything else we do in life. it should be done in balance and disernment. Above all it should be pleasing to our God Jehovah. This was all to new to me and a bit awkward, I,m more experienced in door to door work and informal witnessing. Each of you have allowed me to put several ideas together and make sure of all things. If I could give you all a rating on your answer I would but this don,t work that way. I believe Vonnie summed it all up for each of us. For those who are baptised keep moving ever onward in the work of Jehovah and I hope to meet you someday, For those studying and maturing I commend you, you keep going and don,t let anything detour you. Jehovah love you. We all stumble many times, and we are hurled down but we will get up. Jesus said: Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belong to them. may Jah bless!

I DON'T THINK THAT IT'S DEPRESSING, I JUST FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE PEOPLE. THEY ARE BEING TOSSED ABOUT WITHOUT A SHEPPARD. I AM STILL VERY KNEW TO THIS SITE AND WHEN I COME UP ON SOMETHING THAT IS NEGATIVE, I GOTO ANOTHER QUESTION. MY HEART POURS OUT TO THESE PEOPLE. BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE. I AM ALSO ONE OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES AND I WAS RAISED AROUND THE TRUTH AND WAS BAPTIZED IN DEC. 4 2004.

I was at the Cardiff District Convention Of Jehovah's Witnesses last year, and the speaker at the convention discouraged talking to people such as in groups discussions because you can never know exactly who you are talking to and there are many ravenous wolves out there in sheep's clothing. I am a bible student and I do not want to go into too much of a one to one discussion with someone who I don't know or can't see regardless of their claims of who they say they are. The brothers who instruct us take a dim view of building internet relationships and really there is little need as the family of God's people are in the kingdom halls and at conventions where we can joyfully meet people face to face and be assured of who we talk to and be safe in their company. We can go abroad and meet Jehovah's Witnesses the same way and often they come to see us. There are many traps on the internet and caution should be used always.
I like Yahoo Answers because I do not have to get into a conversation with anyone. I can post a question to people sometimes about God's purpose or answer without getting too much involved but I also need to take heed from councilling given by those that sheperd the flock and use what I do very carefully and I make aware of my actions on the internet to my bible teacher. My wife who is now, to both our benefits, a returned Witness. The greatest witnessing you can do is the door to door ministry and other arrangements that the kingdom hall provides, I am not an unbaptised publisher but with care under guidance I do put snippets of truth out as far as my conscious-in-training finds acceptable. Maybe when I am baptised I will find no more need or wish to do this anymore in this way. My wife chooses not to as she goes on the door to door ministry which she counts as her real ministry work that Jehovah requires of her.

Hi, from Bill

Learned a quick lesson right at the beginning, if a JW's asks a ???, the very first answers you will get are negative, it's like they sit & wait for the ???, the Witness answers are usually under these negative answers.

When I see a Witness ???, I know exactly what to expect, why are we asking ??? like "Are you a Jehovah's Witness?" "What is a JW?" "Are there any JW out there?" etc, etc, if you are going to ask a ???, ask one that might start someone thinking, then they receive so many negative answers, that some of us have to get involved to counteract the negative answers. Your ??? is fine, because you are concerned about our wellbeing, it's not like the above ???.

I scroll through hours sometime just to get a decent ??? to answer, I do not ask ???, because know what will receive in return.

Receive e-mails from U.S.A., and other lands, a lady the other day, told me that she liked our answers, and was going to contact & start a study, have had others say they have changed their minds about the Trinity, so there are people that read and appreciate our imput.

What I find hard to believe is, you have not received a negative answer.

I too stumbled upon this site. And also suffer a disability.I take part in the telephone witnessing at the hall.I dont find this site a danger,as I dont dwell on or read everything on the site.I scroll down the questions (in the religion section only) and answer any that appeal to me using the publications to help me do so.I feel that it is a form or witnessing,as others read the comments made.I have had a few answers of mine picked as 'best answer'and the odd thank you for informative material.
I quite enjoy laying in bed and giving a witness.I dont feel I am exposing myself to ridicule, because I dont have to read their comments.I answer a question using the publications and move on.I dont make any personal contact with anyone. As you said the system is getting worse by the day,and Satan is relentless,so caution is needed in anything we undertake. But so far I am enjoying this avenue of 'speaking' about Jehovah and his wonderful promise for us.

I have to put in a comment here. As much as I want to avoid Witness's questions and comments, I force myself to read them. It makes me feel ashamed of myself. This is the first year in 26 that I never made it to the Memorial. I know that I should've been the one to make sure I made it there. The net is dangerous if you make it so. You have to reach to the far ends of the earth and all venues. True you don't know who you are talking to on the net, at the same time you don't know what's on the other side of the door. As I was always taught, all it takes is for someone to think of the name Jehovah....

You should compare this with the typical door-to-door ministry. Do Jehovah's Witnesses go door-to-door hoping to learn about other religions or to listen endlessly to anti-Witnesses complaining about the Truth? No!

Either the conversation is about the bible, or it doesn't happen. Side conversation is fine when it is encouraging, but when it becomes discouraging, you move on.

The vast majority of Jehovah's Witnesses consider the time they spend here on Yahoo Answers to be recreational rather than ministerial, but the decision regarding how much time to include on your personal report is up to you.

Incidentally, don't write anything wrong and don't lose your composure here. There are many anti-Witnesses whose sole purpose is to discourage and waste the time of sincere bible students.

Agape!

Got to use discernment. Most of the time I go to others areas, sports and polls and surveys. There are a lot of people that have sincere Q, however.
