Cocaine is about the most potent vasoconstrictor we know of (i.e. it causes blood vessels to constrict and dramativally reduce the blood flow to the tissues in the nose). The nasal mucosa and ultimately the cartilage consequently are starved of blood (and hence oxygen and other vital things) which causes them to die off in a process called ischaemic necrosis. This eventually breaks down and leaves a perforated nasal septum (the wall in the middle of the nose) a.k.a Daniella Westbrook

It damages more then just your nose but the main reason is it combines with your mucus in your nasal cavity and turns into an acid. It does that all the way down the back of the nasal cavity into the throat and then to the stomach. Then there are the other side effects that kick in. In short it is a nasty drug that you should stay away from.
