If we write to our members of Parliament or whatever you have in the states we may be able to make our voices heard. It seems to work. I think it's important that if you have a concern it's better to speak up. We can also respect others on the internet this way.
That is to not argue with other people pointlessly.
I get the feeling that a lot of people have come here for an argument or to be needlessly provocative. If you have an opposing point of view you should be able to present it without resorting to cheap language. If you have no point of view leave it be. Too, even if we oppose someones view and cannot make a valid counterpoint can we not just respect it?
This would apply to most aspects of life from the internet to going to the corner store.

Have a great morning ,
Ragdoll.

Honey...our problem is that we can't afford to lobby the gov. Back in the day, we could demonstrate and make our voices be heard on the evening news. Today, big business owns the gov. and the news. The price of living has gone up soo much, people can't AFFORD to do the right thing anymore. Most of the middle class are just worried about keeping their expensive homes, cars, and other materialistic things. The rich are profiting on the misery of others. The poor know that if they act, they could lose their job to a low waged illegal or migrant worker, leaving them with little options since most jobs aren't keeping pay with the rate of inflation. Most "non profit" agencies are just tax breaks for the rich, very few actually want to make a change in someone's life. My neighbor works for a non profit, homeless shelter, she's paid VERY well, I hear her complain about some of her 'intakes'..Sad..Our world has gotten a LOT more complicated. Apathy and greed are taking their turn at the wheel..

I still preach love, peace, and harmony. I guess I always will. I try to pass on my knowledge, but many youngsters today are very self absorbed and are worrying too much about materialist things. I volunteer my knowledge of recycling to local elementary schools. I found that once children enter middle or high school, they aren't very interested in being Eco friendly. I do have nephews, nieces, and a wonderful daughter who are very interested in learning self sufficiency from me. So there is hope. Live simple so others may simply live honey. *s* We need to stop using soo much natural resources, it will bring the prices down and allow others in the world to be able to have access to them.

I honestly have to say that I have seen the tone of certain posters change over time on here. I see so many more people sharing love and hope then hatred. maybe I am just focusing on the positive on here and that is what I am experiencing. Being about love and peace is always great and it does change people around you. Someone having a bad morning comes on and they read a post from someone like you and they smile, they feel a little more hope, they think someone out there cares. That person in turn goes out and smiles to a stranger that stranger smiles back and his step is a little lighter. It spreads. Kind of the whole pay it forward idea. When I come across people on here that use words that I use it makes me feel great and connected. Everyone wants a better world.

Yes, I do, and I think we are all just starting to be aware of it somehow. So many of us seem to have the same sort of idea of world peace and unity. I think that many of us feel that we are in the minority, but the more I talk to people, the more I think we are not the minority at all. We just have to raise our voices!

Nice to see you Old Hippie - Peace!

Hi! Yes, we are working on it. Right now, the net provides a forum for me to teach/educate people on LOVE and the meaning of LOVE and GOD (which is the very essence of unconditional LOVE). people have so much fear. Fear is an addiction. By helping those with addictions purge themselves and open up, they are able to assist others the same way I assisted them.

Like minded doesn't bring peace unfortunately.Germany was full of like minded in the thirties and forties.
Peace is always desirable but not if it means towing some religious line thanks.
Religion has been the cause of all conflict in the World.

Yes, I do believe it's possible. All paradigm shifts start by changing hearts and minds. Once you've done that, you've won. That's how the US was formed, and that's how the USSR collapsed.
