How many megapixels for a clear picture on a 72 inch TV (Plasma or lcd)?

Please also suggest a good digital camera model? pocket versions? With max zoom....

2 megapixels. Even at a resolution of 1600x1200 lines, you only need 2 megapixles.
Print is a different story - then you need much more resolution: around 3 megapixels for good 5x7 inch prints, and around 6 megapixels for good 8x10 inch prints.
For pocket camera's, most models by Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony are good. It's largely a matter of personal preference.
