Valtrex. You can take it preventatively. Also don't worry, the longer you have herpes the less you get outbreaks. It gets weaker everytime.

Valtrex is very expensive you can try L-Lysine. It is an herbal remedy that a nurse told me about when I found out that I have Herpes. She said to take 500mg daily and 1000mg during an outbreak. You can find it at Wal-Mart for about $4.00 for a bottle of 100.

There are a few medications that can suppress herpes. They can be taken daily or just when you are having an outbreak or "feel" an outbreak coming on.

Some oral medications:
Acyclovir (Zovirax)
famciclovir (Famvir)
and valacyclovir (Valtrex)

There is even a acyclovir (Zovirax) ointment, but it's not usually recommended.

SEE YOUR DOCTOR. Don't seek help online. This is a serious condition and even a medication that helps the disease can be overused, misused, or cause furthur blistering. Your doctor has to prescribe the best medication for you and moniter it.
