I am guessing that you are a male are have gotten some of your ideas about nude beaches from "soft" porn or from magazine ads selling guides to "natural beauty" and so on. These ideas are wrong. Nude beaches have people of all ages and body types, just like textile beaches.
Since everyone else is naked, the strangeness of that soon wears off. If you get "uncomfortable" when a pretty girl walks by at a textile beach, you will probably get "uncomfortable" at a nude beach too. Lay on your stomach and think about baseball, dude. If you are there by yourself (or with male buddies) and you are gawking and ogling, you will probably be asked to leave.
At many US public nude beaches, even "innocent" activity like holding hands or putting sun block on your friend's back is discouraged. The "regulars" don't want to give the authorities ANY excuse to close down the beach.
A nude beach is great place to go get an all over tan or avoid the yucky feel of a wet, sandy swim suit. But if you are looking to meet people and socialize, a textile beach is usually better.

Kill your tele is dead on. I've been in southern ca, Hawaii, and France. The ones I've been to in the U.S. tend to have a strong gay population with over weight women and old men rounding out the numbers, all with dark tans. Having said that everyone I met at a nude beach was kind, nonjudgmental, and relaxed (read stoned for HI). A word to the wise, surf wax can stick to hair and it doesn't always leave the hair behind when it comes out if you catch my drift. Ignore the advice about staying out of the water because skinny dipping is a great part of the experience. As far as shrinkage goes just remember, women don't really go to nude beaches to pick up guys and if they do then they go often enough to understand what happens. Europe has a different feel completely. There are usually better looking women topless and it is treated just like you having your shirt off. If you go please don't give them the American rape stare. Enjoy the view but don't over do it.

Not to a nudest beach, it was a local waterway that was (mostly dried up from drought now, no-one goes there now) for public recreation like swimming and fishing, barbeque's and get togethers. Anyway, my boyfriend and I and two others decided that we'd go skinny dipping at a secluded part of this lake. We were having a ball of a time and decided to get out and sun-bake. Just then a car drove up along side us, flat out naked. It was the local ranger.
I don't think he knew what to say. He saw that we had a dog running around loose, pointed to the dog and said that we had better tie the dog up, and with that he left. Boy was our faces red, and not from the sun! We cracked up laughing and went about our skinny dipping. We thought we were in trouble for sure as it was NOT a nudist beach, it was a family recreation area.
I have never been to a nudist beach but back in those days I would have, if there were any around. But to look at me now, I don't think I would feel comfortable with people looking at my less than perfect body, wondering what they are saying about me.
If you have the chance and are comfortable in that setting, go for it, you will feel fantastic.

I went to jamaica and stayed at a clothing optional resort. Not only was the beach a nude beach, but the only time you had to wear clothes was in the restaurant. They had a walk up bar wear you could get sandwiches and salads, plus room service so you never really had to go there if you didn't want to wear clothes at all.. (which I didn't) Most of the people were older over 40. My ex and I were late 20's. But they were for the most part hardcore nudies like myself.
I got married there( we eloped). The only attendees at our wedding were people we had met in the nude hot tub. About 8 of them. All the coooooooooolest folks. But we all got dressed for the wedding..
I don't like to wear clothes at home. So this was the "natural" thing for me to do with my honeymoon/vacation. It's not about sexual as much as it is about comfortable. There weren't too many curious people, but you could tell the difference, between the comfortable and the curious.
If you are looking for super sexual people to get NAKED with, then try looking up swinger sites or resorts. But if you are just wanting to experience yourself "au naturale" then a nude beach/ resort / vacation ought to do it, and don't worry about anyone else.

I was headed to Black's Beach in San Diego a few years back (its a nude beach). But in all honesty, I couldn't get closer then 100 yards of it without an erection. I did not want to be out there like that so I blew it off. As much as I'd like to go I can't seem to get there!

My mom's cousin go to those things and she loves it.She say she feels so free and they're actually very nice and so is the people she said the first time she went she was expecting to see weirdo's but that was'nt the case at all.Everybody got along with every body white black whatever she now goes every year I don't know where the beach is but she never misses a beat.

It isnt as good as alot of people think. There were alot of old men and to me thats not a pretty site. I was lookin for some girls but they were all heavy hitters. If your goin to a nude beach to look for good lookin girls or guys dont try it. Nude beaches are just filled with men lookin gor girls. It is also fun to run on the beach naked though.

When I went to Jamaica there was a nude beach right beside my resort...there was a bar that seperated the two. A group of us ventured over one afternoon and kept our bathing suits on, but we sure did get an eye full! most of the people were older and very much over weight.

I've never been to a nude beach but I do go to the sauna now and again. I suppose it's a similar experience. And no, it doesn't arouse me.

Yes I have been to nude beaches in Greece.It feels really natural and I was not embarrassed at all.Also it was possible if you wanted to wear bathing suits.Everybody there is really relaxed and easy going.
