I'm thinking about getting a couple of bumper stickers for my car. One that says "Support Our Troops," and another with some type of Pro-Democrat or anti-war statement. As I am patriotic and support the military and have a pretty strong military bloodline, but I also disagree with the reasons for the war in Iraq. (I feel we should have been focusing on Bin Laden) What do you think the responses would be? I am not intending this question to have any type of political bias to it, although I probably won't be able to get around it. I want to know what YOU would think if you saw something like this on my little crappy '98 Plymouth Breeze.

To those who felt that I'm "confused" or misguided: I'm not. I know what I believe. My point was that so many people think that you can only feel one way or the other. Support the troops = support the war...don't support the war = hate the troops/America/Bush. That is simply not the case. Thank you to all that have responded thus far.

I have a bumper sticker that reads "dissent is the highest form of patriotism"- a Thomas Jefferson quote, next to my veteran license plate. The general response in my highly conservative hometown, is indifference.
The way I see it, what better way to support our troops than to protect their lives?

Why did you say you didn't want to have any political bias to the question. By putting the statement of Pro-Democratic in your question, it doesn't leave any choice by a viewer but to think your statement is bias to the democratic side of the isle. That said, there is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion and however you choose to express it is a personal matter. I would not group the two on the same bumper. I can support the troops and not the war but I would think that a Veteran of Iraqi Freedom following you would not appreciate it since it was their butt on the line over there not yours. I can only relate to this because I am a disabled Gulf War vet and can only go by how I would have felt following you.

I would think you were trying to be a smart a$$ or that you were confused. I do too, Support our Troops 100%, but I would also like to see them all come home and end this war. I would choose 1 bumper sticker and leave it at that.

You would get many different responses. Some will agree and others would find it insulting. I am a republican but I agree and always say if you cant support the president and the reasons for the war, please support our troops. And give them respect for doing all that they do. A lot of the troops disagree with why they are there but are just following orders.

If you love war and you love killing vote Republican. Again.
If you love debt vote Republican, again.
If you love a bigger not smaller Government vote Republican, again.
If you support Corporations running Congress vote Republican again.
If you support the many UN-Godly lies told by Republicans then vote Republican again.
If you really are Godly and you "love they neighbor as they self" vote for a Democrat.
Will all Republicans be voting from Iraq where they are fighting to "support the troops"?

I would think "good for you". I know someone who had both a Support the troops and a Bush\ Cheney sticker on his car and he was "road raged" by some idiot who was calling him a nazi A_H_o_l_e.....So, the a-h-o-l-e-s are on both sides.

I support our troops but I don't think they should be forced to stay there anymore.

I'd think you were a bit confused. I think the best way to support the military is to bring them home and have them defend me, not oppress others.

I honestly think most Americans have been desensitized to the whole issue. You probably wouldn't get so much as a raised eyebrow.
