Try a program called 'Shredder' from Norton, or do a search for 'File deletion software'. I'm assuming you know that if you just hit 'delete' the file really isn't gone, and I'm also assuming you want them to truly be gone.
If you just want to erase everything, and don't care if it can be recovered (no sensitive files, etc.) just format your drive.
Please note that this will ERASE EVERYTHING and it will NOT BE RECOVERABLE

Try using Evidence Eliminator
You have to pay for it but its te kind of software that the police and military use.
It deletes the files several times over and also rights over the sectors on the hard drive so the file would be very hard to piece it back together.

You dont want to trust any software for removing files off your system and before you do remove any backup your drive as the files you remove may corrupt your system. what files are you trying to get rid of?

Yes...there's many programs out there that will Completely wipe all information off of a HD...Systems Mechanic is one of many that can do this...Even if you format the HD, the information is still on there...so you need a program that will overwrite the disk at least 6-8 times for the information to become unretreavible...

depends what you mean by completely. shred in linux will remove and zero, but for the most part people dont bother because just deleting a file means that it will get overwritten later on when HDD space is used

Newer pc's have two hd's, one just for wiping everything off the main one and reinstalling the OS and it works usually by pressing something like F8 at startup I think
Dinosaurs (like mine lol) have to be fdisked & formatted manually :) Hope that helps!

I don't know a specific program, but check download.com, they'll probably have something there. If they don't, using a large amount of disk space will keep anything but text files too scrambled to recover.

Norton Utility can wipe your deleted files clean to unrecoverable stage if that's what you are asking.
