Go to the printer manufacturer's web page and download the printer driver. Remember where you save the driver. Then install the printer manually from control panel.
During the installation a window will pop up prompting for a location of the driver, type the location on the hard drive ( C: ) where you saved it.
But it may ask for the cd anyway. I think it depends upon which printer you have. If it does maybe try microsoft.com for drivers.

The problem is windows 98 no longer exists to Microsoft yea sure you can download drivers but you are still going to have problems win 98 is an old 32bit operating system. Get youself an upgrade to the 64bit system & winxp this will accept any make and model of printer. or you can stick with the rubbish you have your choice.

I think if you go to the printer's manufacturer web site you can download the driver for the printer? Or borrow a windows disc from your local computer guru or friend.

if it askes for the win98 cd, the files are probably already on the hd, make sure you have hidden files and folders turned off, and browse for a folder called cabs in windows, and look in the folder system, and system32, . If it is a dll file, you can find it and download it from the internet
