I just don't hear Muslims being ashamed of the brutality of their religious criminals. If so, are they just trying to stay alive. It seems more than that. They seem to believe that they have the right to other people's countries (and the right to practice freely their religion in other countries), but other people of the world do not have similar rights in Muslim lands. Is this fair?

they are criminals and hypocrites....they wouldnt allow sacred symbols of other relgions in their country....just try to land in saudia arabia with a crucifix or a bible and see what they will do to you.....and instead these morons come to christian countries and want to upset the social setup of the host country....by removing crucifixes from public places or by asking funds to build mosques.....i had already answered a similar question.....

Most Muslims live in peace. The ones you hear about in the news are the extremests, and every religion has those. There are Imams speaking out against the terror, and saying how wrong it is and how it goes agaist the Qu'ran, but that doesn't make news, so we are only being told about the Imams that condone these actions.
As for practicing faith, As far as I know, all Muslim countries have people of different faiths there. I live in Tunisia (a Muslim country in North Africa) and there are Christians, Jews, and Muslims living and working side by side. I'm Catholic, married to a Muslim, and I still go to church.

If you really want an honest answer, then i strongly suggest you either study islam or completely ignore what you have been hearing or seeing in the media.
The people you are referring to as "seriously religious" are not so. They are fanatics who have their own interpretations of Islam and are using them to justify their actions.
Islam is a very peaceful religion that grants all non-muslims equal rights and if you study the history of Islam you will find a lot of evidence concerning toleration of other religions. If you are too lazy, I urge you to watch the movie Kingdom of heaven, which tells facts about the way muslims treated christians during the crusades.
What you have been reading and seeing are distorted facts that are out there because the voice of those extemists are lowder and simply get more media attention because they make news.
Christians and jews can and do practice their religions without any problems. There are thousands of churches in the middle east and millions of christians in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon etc.

People are individuals, and each individual is responsible only for what he or she has done.
Just because some muslims violate other people's rights, doesn't mean that all muslims are responsible for this.
If an individual muslim or a group of muslims have done something wrong, then only they and nobody else is responsible for it.
Just because Christian Nazis under Hitler committed vicious atrocities, doesn't mean that all Christians are vicious criminals.
The same argument is true for muslims.
Just because your neighbor does something wrong, doesn't mean that you are also to blame and you should go to jail too.

Islam banishes violence, terrorism and murders.
Muslims of today are suffering terrorism and violence. Just look what is happening to them in Israel and u will all understand. Muslims try to live in peace as any other nation, but unfortunately for them they had a very heavy heritage of the colonialism era they try to get rid of it.To be convinced about what I am saying, try to have some friendship with Muslims and you will discover all the truth.
