is it true that if you're 16-17 and u do weight training, your height stops increasing?

No. You stop growing when you stop growing, it has nothing to do with exercise.

Yes, if you are not fully grown & undertake heavy weight training you can stunt your growth. High reps on lower weights is fine though you should check with a trainer.

proof - two people I went to school with. one was a gymnast & the other was a footballer. both should've been taller going by family trends but they did weight training from age 11 and never grew as much as they should have

I don't think weight training does. If you are very active and do a lot of sports then that stunts your growth a little bit.

No. By age 13 people have attained most of their height already.

I highly doubt that. It is just coincidence because between 16-18 you are done growing any way.
