Non-existent things need no proof. For example xrtew is a non-existent animal ... how can some one prove it to be non-existent...

I suppose a a given person can use philosophical and logical proofs to prove the non-existance of a particular god, but first that god must be defined.

However, if the believer claims that such a god is beyond the universe and beyond logic, it is pointless to prove non-existance.

tweets: we are getting closer as more transitional hominid fossils appear. I am sure that soon we will have a complete chain on how the first human appeared. For, now, research about Cro-magnon.

I can't prove there isn't a God, but the onus of proof is on the believer. If you make a positive claim, i.e you say there is x then you should provide evidence. If you say there isn't X then you can't prove it.

However, think about this:
God is defined as perfect and eternal
Something that is perfect and eternal can't change
To act is to change
Therefore God cannot act.
If God cannot act He is irrelevant
If God is irrelevant He is not God
Therefore God does not exist.

Technically no one can either prove or disprove the existence of God because spiritual questions like that fall outside the scope of science. Science can only be used to show how likely or unlikely certain myths are but not whether a higher power exists in some form or another.

No one can prove there is no God definatively just as no one can prove definatively that there is a God. At some point in the logic it will take faith of ones viewpoint in either direction.

What a stupid question. Typical religious logic. If can't prove the non existance of something then it must be true.

News flash : It is impossible to prove the non existance of anything.

Try this. Can you prove the non existance of invisible fairies that live in the clouds ? Of course you can't ! Doesn't mean they exist though !

Why would someone want to prove that there is no God?

I can! He sent his chosen people to the only place in middle east where there's no oil... Who would do that? No one.

PS: Batfreak, you can prove that negative because it's a particular one at a given moment in time. Now prove there aren't planets! Or prove there isn't a teapot circling a planet!

There are many philosophers that claim that God doesn't exist by using sometimes complicated proofs, the link below includes one such proof. There are also philosophers that claim they can prove that God does exist, or rather that God must exist. Other than that you have to use your own judgment to decide whether or not God exists.

It is impossible to prove a negative, the burden of proof is on the theist. That's like asking you to prove that no unicorns exist.

Nobody need prove there is no god. The burden of proof is upon those who insist there IS a god. I've seen no such proof in sixty-plus years; you got something new to say about it?
