It depends, I always cook it until I can pull a leg apart from the rest of the chicken easily. This is usually about 2 hours. You could also use a meat thermometer to check.

are you pulling it apart or cooking it whole? It would be a lot quicker if you would pull it apart and boil it. It would take about 30 to 45 minutes

you shouldn't boil, you should simmer. Boiling makes the chicken tough as heck.

well depending how high you have the heat it should only take about 1hr(med) or low heat maybe less than 2.
