I've been to Bangkok a number of times and I love it--it is a wonderful refuge and escape for many of here in Tokyoland. This time I'm just going for a week and I'm just looking for a good place to sit, read, write and study. All I need is a table and good light. What do you recommend?

There is a great place but you need to be a member.. $$ - depending upon your visa status but first day you can enter for free and check it out.. It is in the Emporium Shopping Mall on the sixth floor where the movie theatres are but on the opposite side of the floor - - there is a design library - free internet etc.. lovely and comfy.. enjoy

Suggest you head to Hua Hin, beach resort. Should be good and relaxing. Just about 2-3 hours by bus from Bangkok. The place will be lovely for you to read and write.

By My experience: Whenever you want peace-AVOID TOURIST PLACES !

Be it THAILAND or INDIa...avoid tourist places. You should head towards north thailand where you will find tribals and jungle and some scenic natural views.....stay there.

Comfortable,cheap and enjoyble.....
