Is Simon Peter going to be at the Gate of Heaven?

the Bible does not say Saint Peter will be at the "Pearly Gates" this is a reference to the gates of New Jerusalem being made of Pearl. The streets of Gold, and the 12 foundation of precious jewels.

a study of the Bible and the chambers of the after life tell us we go to Paradise. also known as Abraham's bosom. the bible does not tell us how or who will be there to receive us it just tells us where we go.

for those who reject God they go to Sheol, Gehenna, Hell depending on the language you want to use its all the same place

The mythology comes from the part in the bible where Jesus says that he is giving Peter the "Keys to the Kingdom." This has been taken literally, as the keys to the gates of heaven. This is why we tend to show him as the gatekeeper in popular culture.
