My hubby has had severe psoriasis for the best part of his adult life. Its a miserable condition that looks like it has migrated into his joints and given him arthritis at the age 30.

For years he tried many creams, lotions and bath additives to no avail. Dovabet and Dovanex are to name a few. Obviously it does depend on the severity of your condition. In lesser cases these creams and such prove to be very successful. He has finally found a doctor that has refereed him for U.V. treatment at the local hospital and finally he has made some headway in treating his condition. I would warn you though that unless you have a serious case you won't be refer ed and also you have to go for a session every other day for a maximum of 20 sessions. The time in the machine gradually increases from 17 seconds to 9 minutes over the course of the sessions. The days you don't attend the hospital you have to apply cream. Its by no means an easy solution, but it has given my hubby the confidence to wear a t-shirt and shorts in the house. He still wont go out in a t-shirt or shorts and he has been left with marks where the psoriasis was, but he is alot more comfortable in himself. After the 20 session you go into remission, but there is always the chance it will return. There is no permanent cure for it at the moment.

Contrary to belief it is very difficult to find out the trigger for psoriasis. My hubby isn't overly stressed and doesn't drink alcohol which are often blamed for it. He was told by his consultant that there are 100's of triggers and that it is very difficult and would take years to actually find out which one it was. There are people who's trigger is stress and/or alcohol, but its not a set in stone rule and there are people out there still who think its catching as my hubby has encountered on numerous occasions.

I wish you all the best and hope the treatment that suits you the best.

Homoeopathy. Or, If you can make a trip to India nothing like it. One of my friend, who's son had severe case of psoriasis got treated and he is completely cured. If you want to try Ayurveda you can go to Kerala in India or go to Chennai which is the capital for medical treatments. Next best thing is a fish treatment I saw on discovery some time ago. I think its somewhere in Russia or near Russia, I am not sure.
