There is unlimited space in the human imagination. Since both heaven and hell are imaginary places, I'm sure just about any number of people could fit.

When it comes to spiritual matters, humans can never really grasp nor understand the unknown. Unlimited space, who knows, but let me put it this way.
What would an ant think if placed on the american continent? would it ever be able to cross from eat to west! to ants a continent, even a town is infinite space.

I some times wonder how big are we really are?
I am sure ants think they are the bench mark for size like we do, atoms and molecules are the base of living matter. Could it be that we are the atoms and moleclues of a bigger body!!!

Hope it answers your query

Hey Spidey,
I sort of understand things this way. Only the specific chosen ones, "the 144000" will go directly to heaven when they die. They are the ones who will help Jesus rule the earth later. I think it says that the dead are dead, they see, hear, feel, think or do nothing. They are just dead and waiting for the "second coming of Christ". That is supposed to happen the moment that the very last one of the 144000 has been collected in heaven. Then all heck will break loose and EVERY single being will be given a second chance and have no doubt about who Christ is. They will be given the opportunity to follow his teachings or be the non-followers that will be dead forever or whatever and the others will live as the Lords prayer promises. _______Our Father (GOD), who art in heaven (OK). hallowed (to keep sacred), be thy name (GOD does have a name other than GOD). Thy kingdom come (Heaven), thy will be done (his way of life and teachings) will be done ON EARTH as it is in HEAVEN. That is a promise from GOD. His word never returns unfulfilled. Otherwise my dear I do apologies for my embarrassing ignorance.

Definition: The word “hell” is found in many Bible translations. In the same verses other translations read “the grave,” “the world of the dead,” and so forth. Other Bibles simply transliterate the original-language words that are sometimes rendered “hell”; that is, they express them with the letters of our alphabet but leave the words untranslated. What are those words? The Hebrew she’ohl´ and its Greek equivalent hai´des, which refer, not to an individual burial place, but to the common grave of dead mankind; also the Greek ge´en·na, which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction. However, both in Christendom and in many non-Christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked, after death, are punished (and some believe that this is with torment).
“Much confusion and misunderstanding has been caused through the early translators of the Bible persistently rendering the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades and Gehenna by the word hell. The simple transliteration of these words by the translators of the revised editions of the Bible has not sufficed to appreciably clear up this confusion and misconception.”—The Encyclopedia Americana (1942), Vol. XIV, p. 81.

Translators have allowed their personal beliefs to color their work instead of being consistent in their rendering of the original-language words. For example: (1) The King James Version rendered she’ohl´ as “hell,” “the grave,” and “the pit”; hai´des is therein rendered both “hell” and “grave”; ge´en·na is also translated “hell.” (2) Today’s English Version transliterates hai´des as “Hades” and also renders it as “hell” and “the world of the dead.” But besides rendering “hell” from hai´des it uses that same translation for ge´en·na. (3) The Jerusalem Bible transliterates hai´des six times, but in other passages it translates it as “hell” and as “the underworld.” It also translates ge´en·na as “hell,” as it does hai´des in two instances. Thus the exact meanings of the original-language words have been obscured.

There is no 'HELL' (firey place of torment) it mans common grave. heaven though does exist and this is a place where spirit creatures live and work. good people do not go to heaven (clouds harps ect) they as the bible say will be resurected to life on a restored earth. restored - returned to the way god intended it when he created adam and eve - a paradise (A beautiful park, or a parklike garden. The Greek word pa·ra´dei·sos occurs three times in the Christian Greek Scriptures).

There is actually an interesting theorem that predicts hell freezing over.

A human soul is considered to take up space but have no matter to it. With more and more people dying, hell must be making room to accomodate all of these non-matter souls that still take up space. Whenever you increase the volume of an enclosed space without adding matter, the temperature and pressure drop. Essentially, each soul makes hell a little bit colder until one day hell will freeze.

Heaven has no beginning and no end. The space there is limitless. I'm not sure about hell, but I do know the Bible says more people will go to hell than heaven, so hell is probably limitless too.

Souls or Spirits are not gaged the same as body mass/size/consistency - not as you and I know it. For example - Biblically speaking, a man can be possessed by a legion of demons as illustrated by the man who lived among the tombs.

So a holding area for hell, holding the spirits of men would not have to be a certain size.

The people of God only on Resurrection day get a Glorified "immortal" body that does have physical form

Decision of who goes where (hell or heaven) will be taken only on the day of Judgement. Why are you limiting God's ability to do things? If he could create such a vast universe out of nothing, can't He accomodate everybody in hell or heaven? We as humans have very limited imagination. We can't limit God to our imagination!

It depends entirely on what your idea of heaven and hell is. I think the idea of reincarnation probably solves this for me. I don't really believe in hell anyway, i like to think you have to keep re doing your life until God is satisfied and lets you in to Heaven. That or everyone who does wrong is constantly re born as an insect.

hell does grow to insure there is enough room.

Isa 5:14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
God has His elect whom where chosen from the beginning no need to expand heaven. .....Messenger
