Centuries ago through one of the prophets, God challenged anyone to present a living God to him for comparison. This was during the time Islam claims (or close to) to have come into existence.
Note the Christian/ Jewish God Jehovah is very much alive here.
Anyway a test was made and Jehovah was the only living God who could or would react to a man. Jehovah sent down heavenly fire that not only consumed the sacrifice, but the water it had been soaked in, and the altar it rested on. The other Gods men worshiped then, remained silent. And by the way, the people destroyed the Priests of the silent Gods.
Additional proof he lives today is in the fact that Kingdom halls are being built and rapidly being filled all over the inhabited world.
People are coming to us to be spiritually fed!

If you look back at the origins and history of the 3 Abrahamic faiths (Judahism, Islam and Christianity) you will find they 'share' an ancient patriarch in Abraham. Jews and Christians share a common history through Abraham's son Isaac up to the end, at least, of what Christians call the Old Testament. Jews don't believe that Jesus is (was) their long-expected Messiah.
Islam's prophet, Mohammed, was disgusted during about the 500s AD with the way Christianity was practiced and he was 'inspired' to write the Koran. That trcaes their origins through Abraham's eldest son ( not the son of his wife according to Cs and Js), Ishmael. bearing in mind the fact that Abraham - the common 'ancestor' - believed in Jehovah, the inevitable conclusion is that all three faiths worhsip that same God. However, they know him ver differently. Islam does acknowledge all this, using the term 'children of the Book' for Jews and Christians. They also honour Jesus as the 2nd most important prophet (but not as God's son), and also Mary as Jesus's mother.

If there is a God/god (and my personal belief is that there isn't) then he is the same almighty whether yo are Muslim, Christian, Jew or Sikh.
The trouble with religion, is that people turn their beliefs into a competition. Dogma creeps in then, eventually fundamentalism.
Despite the religions at their core being doctrines to live your life healthily without causing others harm, over the ensuing centuries, man has twisted the original meaning of the words written in each of the holy texts to vindicate him when he has an argument with a person of another faith. - This is why modern religion is losing its appeal with the moderate majority and people with a grudge to bear are increasingly drawn to fundamentalism (beit Christian, Islam or Judaism)

Yes because Abraham is the father of both religions. Christians, Jews and Muslims all worship the God of Israel.

Is God the same god in both Islam and Christianity?
NO. Wrong answer.
Christian: Jesus of Nazareth, Son of God, the Christ/Messiah.
Jesus fulfilled the OT, established a new Covenant.
Muslim: Mohammad, Prophet of Allah. does away with or supersedes the OT & NT & establishes the Q'raun complete new text of scripture. ( parts of OT & NT mixed with Arabian paganism, allah is the name of the Moon god during mohammads lifetime).
i won't go into the many, many diferences in order to keep it simple and direct.

There can only be one God. Therefore, by default they must be the same. Certainly each religion worships in different ways, and the word revealed is slightly different, but I believe the God is the same.

Absolutely no. The God of Islam teaches that Christ is only a prophet. Also teaches Jihad. The God of Christians teaches that Christ is the Son of God and teaches to love enemies not to kill them.
