Crucified must of just been flat terrible all they ways you look at it, pain, slow death, starve, and heat to death on top of a tree basically.

I believe those particular reports about Peter are false. The reason I say this is for the simple fact, Jesus indicated Peter would die of old age.., the type of death he should glorify God by.
Gospel of JOHN 21:18 -19 [NIV]
18 Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." 19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!"

It's possible another Christian named Peter was confused for the Apostle Peter somehow. Since I do don't presume Jesus to be a liar - this is the only possible answer if the account of a Peter hanging on an upside down cross is a true report.

Non the less these brutal deaths are recorded in the "FOXES BOOK OF MARTYRS"

That is what church tradition teaches but no one knows how accurate it is. We will have to wait until we meet him I guess before we really know. It sounds like Peter though.

The reason we do not know a lot of these things is because the early church was persecuted and along with the Jewish people were driven out of the middle east for about 300 years and only returned after the time of Constantine. When they returned no one knew where things had happened or often even what had happened. Constantine appointed his mother who went through the land and decided where the events of the Bible took place and what she decided became the accepted belief even down to this day. Because of that 300 years we really don't know.

Yes, Peter was crucified upside down on a cross, for the reason you mentioned. I think it's in the Bible, though... and Yes, crucifixion was a terrible way to die... and My Jesus did that just for you and me! How awesome a thought...

It's not in the bible, it's part of Christian folklore. Weather it's true or not depends on faith. You could chose to put the same faith in the story that you put in the bible, or you can chose to believe it as silly or nonsense. You could also do the same with the bible, it's up to you. I like to question as much as I can, but that's me.
