There was no such thing as wearing crosses when Jesus walked the earth. However, Jesus spoke of the Godhead triune existance. Man gave the word trinity to the inclusion of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Cross and Trinity Sign are symbols used within Christian religions to symbolize Christ.
The significance of the cross comes from the fact that Christ was sacrificed on a cross, as such it is s symbol that has only taken on significance since His crucifixion.
I'm not aware of any references in the Bible to crosses. They may have been used in some non-religious context and if so, they were presumably of little significance.

there is none in the bible. The sign of the cross as the belief of roman catholic church is to cast evil away. The capital punishment for criminals during Jesus time is the crufixion. Imagine if Christ lives today and the capital punishment is by electric chair. We will do the sign of the chair. This doctrine of sign of the cross is a false doctrine and unbiblical.

Of course not, both the cross and the trinity doctrine stem from pagan backgrounds.
Jesus died on a stake or a tree trunk, not a cross. The greek word rendered "cross" in many modern Bible versions is stau-ros'.In classical Greek, this word meant merely an upright stake,or pale.

The bible makes no mention of the sign of the cross. It was invented long after that time period. The folklore is that persecuted christians under the control of Rome, invented the signing of the cross so they would recognize each other. Like a secret code or password. So they knew who they could trust. However, I never found any research on that to prove or disprove it....Good luck in your search!
