Get whatever kind of dog fits your lifestyle. If you live in a small home or condo, get a small dog, one that doesnt need a lot of space to run, and vice versa. Basically, get whatever kind of dog that interests you. I think German Shephards are great dogs, as well, as dobermans. I have know quite a few small dachshunds and yorkies that were great as well. It depends on your personality and lifestyle as well. Dont get a dog that needs a lot of attention, if you work alot, self explanitory.

Depends on your lifestyle I guess!
I picked a Cavalier King Charles last year. They are very friendly lovable dogs that are good with children and other animals. They are lively and fun and not too small and not too big. Although they have bags of energy if its raining really badly, they won't mind if they don't get their daily walk - unlike other dogs that need lots and lots of walking....
Getting my Harry was the best thing I have ever done!

Well it depends on you really and your lifestyle. I have two black Lab's. Lab's are very good with children and this is one of the reasons we got Lab's. I have a 6 year old and a 9month old. We got our dogs 4months ago and they are fab with the children. Read up on dogs and what different dogs need and like and see if they will suit you and what your lifestyle is like. If you hate all the hair of the dog around, then u can try, Daschund,
If you hate big dogs - try pikenese;
If you hate the spit of the dog around - dont get bull dog.
if you like firece ones- get a pit bull terrier.....

A pomeranian.......they are the cutest and most lovable dogs around.......a pomeranian is a small fluffy dog. Sharon Osbournes little white dog named mini is a pomeranian, but you might find it hard to get one......there quit rare

A Siberian Husky if you love to be outside in the cold. Or a Longhaired Chihuahua if you are more inside person.
