Brown rice or wild rice, or whole grain pasta, or sweet potatoes.

White rice, white pasta, and regular potatoes are just starchy and include very few fibers and vitamins.
Your body digests them very quickly, and then you are ready for MORE food... Also, your body turns the starches into sugars.

It depends. Brown rice is much better than white rice. Sweet potatoes are much better for you than white potatoes. Whole wheat pasta is better than regular pasta. So it just depends on which type you want to compare.

This may sound strange but how many fat Asians have you ever seen? The answer should be very few. Now... the reason why? It's because the staple food diet for Asian people is Rice. If you eat rice with your meal and drink liquid (water) with your meal, the rice will swell in your stomach and fill you much quicker thus you eat less over-all.
So, my answer would be Rice for a heathier meal.

Potatoes have vitamin C which the others do not.

To raise the others up to be in the same league with potatoes, you would have to eat the whole grain.

Potatoes have about the same number of calories as apples. It is the butter and stuff that we put on them that add the calories.

it depends on how they are eaten and what they are eaten with. they are all starchy cabohydrates. There is healthier whole wheat pasta and one again depends on the rice. If you are talkng about regular everything I would go with the potato

I'd say that potatoes are because they contain alot more vitamins and things like that, look at The Great Famine in Ireland, 8 million people tried to survive on them, sure, ok, it failed and alot of people died, but it didnt become their staple food for no reason, ALL these foods are good for you!!!!!!!!!
