but in reference to what you wrote "but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean" refers to the vision he saw in which he was commanded to eat both the clean and unclean creatures.

This vision means that - the word of God is meant not just for JEWS but EVEN TO THE GENTILES. (Jews hold gentiles to be unclean) So while spreading the message of the gospel, he should also preach to the gentiles.

See Acts 15:14 - God turned his attention to the 'Gentiles' to take from out of them - a people for his Name.

This statement was a statement based on the Old Testament Jewish law that prevented Jewish people from intermingling with the gentiles. This was established in the law to prevent the Jewish people from falling away from the teachings of God into the idolatrous practices of the nations. The Jews could associate with gentiles if the gentiles came to them to learn of their God but not the other way around. This passage in Acts 10 is God showing to the church that this practice was no longer necessary because the gospel was now to the whole world. In Christ there is no distinction betwee Jew of gentile, slaves and freemen, men and women etc (Taught in Galatians)

It should be brought out the eating of the pig was condemned because of health reasons. Also certain other animals were included. With to days modern methods of cooking and a better understanding of practical health measures, the old laws are not needed any longer. Eat with whom you please and enjoy the company. God disowned the Jews , but individually they are forgiven every day.

It is against Jewish custom to eat with non-Jews as their eating dishes are not kosher. A Jew would defile himself by eating off kitchenware that has been exposed to ham or pork.
So, to avoid this, Jews fellowship with Jews.
