What R the differences between minDV & miniDVD? is the difference really notecable? wich is better?please recomen a digicamcorde for that,(Zoom,stability,image quality are important in a com for me+I wan it to take still & movie pics)please I need some answers for all above Q's....

Ok, the miniDV camcorders records video in Digital Video tape and the DVD camcorders record video on mini DVD disks.
The miniDV is uncompressed format, even professional camcorders which costs more than 5000 pounds also use miniDV tape for its quality.
DVD is a compressed mpeg4 format. You may not notice any difference if viewing on a 21" television. But you will definitely notice a difference if viewing on Plasma television or projector.
Almost all camcorders (MiniDV or DVD) have ZOOM of at least 10X which is standard. But some panasonic camcorders have upto 30X optical zoom. Optical zoom works through lens, and digital zoom is like stretching the pixels and you loose quality.
All digital camcorders allows you to take still pictures. You can grab still frames from video using video editing softwares like Pinnacle Studio DV.

the difference of mini dv & mini dvd is
mini dv is recording to digital mini tape ( cheaper )
mini dvd is record file to digital mini disc (more expansive )
most likely is the same quality but mini dvd can play directly on most dvd player.
both can be take still pic.
