I mean when they quote huge chunks of it when you prove them wrong and don't bother reading because you know it will be completely irrelevant anyway just telling you are going to hell in the longest possible way. I mean Lord of the rings says Frodo cast the ring of power into the fires of mount doom but that doesn't make it true. The fact is the bible is just a story book that some people have taken too seriously.

pinky_glee you said you self the bible wasn't all written at once it has been changed over time to make it more credible to keep fools under control.

TommyG 1. evolution has been proven you have just been blinded by god. 2. The bible proves nothing unless you can positively date it and you can't as it has been changed too many times. And what does it actually say does it actually mention bacteria or is it incredibly vague and says something like invisible creatures attack and from the bible this could mean anything.

The proof that they have is the bible, which is what is called circular logic. If you can't prove if someone is telling the truth, you ask him if he is and he says 'yes', does this prove he was telling the truth? No. It doesn't prove he was lying, but it doesn't prove he was telling the truth. You can choose to believe him or choose not too.

However, if there are other people who claim that this person is lying, and you refuse to believe them based on the fact that he said he wasn't, this is absurd. There are many accounts that claim that certain events in the bible didn't take place, some which can be shown to be far more accurate than the bible.

Most people who believe in the bible, will say that it's different because it's the word of God and God wouldn't lie. This is also circular logic. True God wouldn't lie, but the only proof that it's the word of God is itself. If I claimed to be God, would you take everything that I said as the truth? I hope not! You should question everything, especially that which forbids you to question it.

The internal evidences are those things internal to the Bible itself that testify of its divine origin. One of the first internal evidences that the Bible is truly God’s Word is seen in its unity. Even though it is really sixty-six individual books, written on three continents, in three different languages, over a period of approximately 1500 years, by more that 40 authors (who came from many walks of life), the Bible remains one unified book from beginning to end

Another is seen in the detailed prophecies contained within its pages. The Bible contains hundreds of detailed prophecies relating to the future of individual nations, to the future of mankind, and to the coming of Jesus.Unlike the prophecies found in other religious books or those done by Nostradamus, the biblical prophecies are extremely detailed and have never failed to come true.

Through both archaeological evidences and other written documents, the historical accounts of the Bible have been proven time and time again to be accurate and true. In fact all the archaeological and manuscript evidence supporting the Bible makes it the best documented book from the ancient world.

Because of its importance and its claim to be the very word of God, the Bible has suffered more vicious attacks and attempts to destroy it than any other book in history. From early Roman Emperors, through communist dictators, the Bible has withstood and outlasted all of its attackers and is still the most widely published book in the world today.

After all, Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Mark 13:31)

And I have yet to see, in ALL my time here even ONE Scripture in Context ever proven wrong.

Research before you throw out broad accusations you cant prove.

The Bible says that the Word of God is infallible. I'm sorry you've had bad experiences with people like that, but I wouldn't stereotype them. And in the Lord of the Rings, Tolkein said that his book was fiction. The Bible isn't. I can't prove that the Bible is the Word of God, but no one can disprove it either. I'll let you decide.

No proof, though I"m sure they will quote several passages to try to prove it. (One in particular is in Timothy that states all scripture is inspired.... the problem with that verse is, only the Old Testament was considered Scripture at that time LOL) Which is absolutely amazing to me. It's tradition, I guess, that the bible is handed down and called the "Word of God" but they also say Jesus is the Word of God. I think they just use whatever they can get their hands on in hopes that it sounds good to the rest of us.

Lack of proof means nothing. You accept evolution there is no proof that is why it is STILL a theory.Yet you accept it as fact.WHY?It has been knocked down and dragged through the dirt, where is the proof.
The Bible say the world is hung upon nothing,It sets out laws for cleanliness that presuppose germs and bacteria, all of this a thousand years before science proved it so.
That is my evidence.
Where is yours?

The proof of anything is in its application , since you are not a witness to anything that happened. For example, the proof of a scientific principle is established if one can proove that princple actually works. Then we know it is true. We believe the word of the weather man if he predicts rain and it happens, we believe him if he predicts a hurricane and it happens..If nothing turns out to be true, then we do not believe him. The same is true for God's word. Does it work? Have things come true that were predicted? The answer if yes, you do as its says. The application of God's word is conditional. It does not work for everyone because not everyone obeys what it says. If one obeys the word of God, and believes in it (god does not like to be insulted with disbelief), it will work for them.

The orginal people witnessed the miraclous, and so they understood the word to be true. For people now, the miraculous can also happen. But they have to meet the conditions laid out in the bible...it is not a free ride...I personally have seen this true in my life.... when i was not in line with what the word said, nothing seemed to work, but when i was finally obedient, and believed like i should , the miraculous really did occur. When i followed the principles of God in my life, I was more successful..when i did not follow them, i failed....So, at least in my life, I can say that the Word of God does work, and the words in the bible are really true, because they work for me
