I haven't been disciplined enough to astral project, but I know people who have. Some have been able to do it fine on their own, but for some people a guide helping the first time is useful.

Most people work at doing it, but I've known at least one person who did it spontaneously. I think this is a rare gift, probably something learned from past lives, that should be greatly cherished if you're able to do it.

I had an experience which MAY have been astral projection a couple of times, but I had nothing by which to distinguish the experience from vivid imagination in either case. In one, I was under anesthesia for a minor surgery and found myself watching the doctors from above their heads.

In the other, I was in a motel room, heavily drugged (this was many years ago, in my wicked hippy days), and seemed to be floating near the ceiling, watching myself sprawled out on the bed. That one had a profound effect on me, because I realized I did not want to destroy myself, as I apparently would if I continued with such drugs. I seemed to have the option to give up and leave or go back to my body and get it straight. Obviously, I chose the latter option.

the only thing I was able to 'astral project' was a baseball. I had to use a baseball bat not a guide. and unfortunately I was caught out
