No offense intended. I grew up without my father being around, went to an all girls school, and have no brothers. And I feel that life is quite okay, without men. Why should I have a men in my life, apart from for sex and security? As far as security is concerned, I think men are the ones that make women safe AND unsafe. What do you think? The most convincing answer gets ten points.

Well to the question, 'what are women for?' I would say that women have careers, they earn money, they look after the household, they bear and bring up children, they look after the emotional needs of the whole family, and lots more...

Well, cant blame you much for having a lopsided view of men... Your thinking seems to be prejudiced against men...
If you ask what are men for, then really there is no answer, besides that you wouldnt be here without a man.... But i guess thats not what u mean...
In life, you need a partner... to share your joys n sorrows,to share..................life, yeah, you need someone to share your life with..... It may not necessarily be a man, but the powers of nature have made it that way. a woman needs a man, a man needs a woman...
You said sex and security........ Now tell me, what more can a person need??? If you are secure, you are bound to be happy..... You may find a man that loves you truly and deeply.... That will make you feel secure, loved and happy......... Sex will be there....... What more do u want? And can u get it without a man?? I agree some men are really Pigs, but not all men ar that way..... It isnt right to generalise all men as bad, due to your experience...
You should give yourself a chance, by that i mean, give a man a chance, cos that will be like giving a chance to your self to live life like its meant to be..... There are ups and downs in life for everyone, but thats a part of life, right?
So, for once, throw this prejudiced view out of the window and think about life(and men) from a fresh perspective......
You may choose a best answer here, but i hope that in real life you find a man soon who proves to be the best answer to all you questions!!

reproduction and labor....just joking.....though if you ever had to mow the lawn on your own you know that they do come in handy . Men are as individual as women are , some are violent some aren't some are sensitive others prefer not to be .
As for why you should have one in your life ...you don't , but when the time comes you'll need a partner in your life , girlfriend , boyfriend , husband , live-in partner , room mate or even just a good friend . Your human like the rest of us and you need companionship .
Though I'm not saying that you should exclude men from your life . Its not healthy to have just a woman's perspective on everything ...(afterthought)... well it may not be completely unhealthy but its diffidently not well rounded . Also if you continue to think there is no use for men then when/if you chose to have children that frame of mind will also be picked up by your children .

Suppose you like carrots. Can you eat carrots all the time in all your meals. You certainly would like to have a variety and you will relish carrots more if you had eaten raddish or cucumber earleir. Same is with men. You get to know a different perspective about life, a different thought process and also you would feel better many a times when you know how clumsy they are in goofing up. They are also more caring in any form brother, father or lover - though at times they also get too caring to the extent of making you claustrophobic. So go ahead and have a variety in life.

If I look at this as selfish as you do, I have to ask what are Women for, besides Sex and delivering children.
I am currently divorced father raising a 11 yr old daughter by myself for the past 6 years with little women/mother involvement. What are women for? I would like to believe more than above

Apart from all those security thing, I'd say a man makes a woman's life complete. We are made to be a perfect unison.
Though I myself encountered a lot of hardships from men, I couldn't deny that we spent the best time in life together, in terms of spiritual, emotional and philosophical viewpoints.

Difficult question. Men provide something that women cannot - a males view of things. We all know that men and women think and behave differently. Without having a male role model, yound girls may have difficulty relating to males in later years.

By nature women are not stronger like men. Women cannot handle most of the hard things. You may argue women are doing lot of things in Army, as doctors, etc. etc. But to work hard and longer hours, women can not do. Their physic does not support them. All over the world women are women. Men were put here to obey God and to keep His commandments. Many men just do not accept or acknowledge their assignment. That is what causes such pain and confusion here. They were made in the image of God and given security and sex, freely, by God, but cursed because of their idolatry, selfishness and disobediance. Now all they do is work and produce sperm to create more bodies so God can perfect souls and spirits to do what He commanded to be done in the first place.
