I worked for a manufacturing plant that supplied this type of glass to it's vendors. We called it "micro-sheet glass". It came to us in pizza shaped boxes, with many sheets per box. Very thin stuff. It came in different thicknesses. Some as light and thin as a sheet of paper. There were many steps involved in manufacturing these parts before they actually left the plant. As far as if they cracked, I am not sure about how it would be replaced. But am sure there must be another type of protection for that.

if you're talking about solar water heating panels pvc or cupper type they use single glazing matt "sweeting" glass usually or in cold countries double glazing clear glass. 5MM to 8MM
if you're talking about solar water heating panels void bulb type they use cocylindric double glazing clear type.

4 replacing the glass u need to remove the ring seal and u'll slide the glass through some opening on top/side

try 2 call simply your vendor for maintenance it's much better
