I am currently taking Effexsor. My mother in law tells me that what ever pain I am feeling it is all related to the Effexsor. It could be a headache, backache leg ache. I really never have any pains, only when she is around. Before you say get rid of the mother in law I have tried she keeps coming back like a bad penny. The only problem I have with the Effexsor is the weight gain. Has any body heard of side effects besides that weight gain? I would love to prove her wrong.

Do a google search for Effexor. There are many message boards on the net where people gather for support and answer to questions about their depression meds.
The weight gain is temporary. I also take Effexor XR. This particular antidepressant was the hardest for my system to get used to but it has been very much worth it. I have been depressed my whole life. This drug has helped save my life and make me a better mother and wife. It has helped me to see things clearly and deal with problems instead of being stuck in fear. It has stopped my anxiety attacks.
I am 45 and until I started taking this drug my life was a mess. I wasn't a good example for my kids because of being afraid of making those tough decisions we all have to make. I handle things calmly now and with resolve.
I know that none of us have the same effects from medications. The one thing I have found is before you believe someones negative reaction make sure they are taking the med correctly and have been on it for a while-at least a few months. Because of the stigma and the initial start up side-effects many get scared or give up. I know I have done that in the past. Sometime you have to take the good with the bad to get well.
This is not a bad drug. It just doesn't work for everyone. I'm thankful it is working of me. Even if I have to take it for the rest of my life.

I took it - sister did too! I don't like the drug... can't remember all the side effects. But as you mentioned the WEIGHT GAIN - that brought me down deeper into a depression, so the whole drug it's self it bad.

P.S. I now tell my Physic - I refuse to take anything that has the side effect of weight gain.

Also, medication, sure you know, become immune of fast, three months is my limit. Also go through alot of medications before you find one that works and side effects are worst than cure

go to http://www.drugs.com

and in your search box type in "symptoms of depression"
