So till you are 21, you can cultivate, develop and strengthen on the following aspects:

The foremost requirement would be a healthy mind and body. Keep and maintain yourself fit.

You should have analytical mind and ability to reason.

You should have a good knowledge of the law of the land.

You should have to cultivate dedication to your duty.

You need to be practical to handle tricky situations.

Besides the ability to lead from the front, you need to have the ability to work as a team and due respect for other members of the team.

Good communication skills, both oral and written.

You should be a helping hand to the needy and law abiding persons.

You must be sensitive to the local social issues and causes, yet able to perform and uphold the rule of law.

You must be able to have good family relations at home, with your elders, siblings, spouse and children as a peaceful and supporting family would help you immensely to perform excellent at your work

Don't curse me if i have written a lot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call your local law enforcement station and see what the requirements are for being a reserve officer. Or see if you can ride along with an officer during a shift.

First know you won't become rich. Do it because you love to help people of all walks of life. Don't do it cause you have an agenda. There are some in this field who are abusive, as in all walks of life. It is very fun, and when you come home, leave work at work and leave home at home, when you are at work. Their are many people who are against police becuase they were wronged or just feel that they have been wronged and don't under stand what THEY did was wrong. It can be very slow one minute and all hell breaks loose the next, I.E. 9-11.

consider applying for a dispatch position--you can at 18-- it will give you a pretty good idea about what cops do, and you will actually have to take several classes that the officers do to become a certified telecommunicator.... by the time you hit 21 you will be way ahead in the game and have a pretty good idea what to expect

What I would do is search online for the nearest police academy, call them, and ask them about what kind of requirements they have for accepting new cadets. I'm not sure what "basics" it is you claim to know, but I'm sure they can send you all kinds of information in the mail. You may even be able to find all the information you need online!

Part of police work is investigating. Start practicing and investigate this matter. In all seriousness, I wouldn't rely on most of the people who frequent this site to give you anything even close to real info. For this kind of thing, you'll do best to find out for yourself.

Contact you local Police Department and tell them of your wishes to become an Officer and find out all about their Police Academy and find out what you need to do to apply to it when you turn 21 years old. Good luck.

Go to college and get your degree, concentrate on criminal law. If you still want to be a police officer when you graduate, then your promotions will come quickly/

In regards to your last sentence--looks as if you're well on your way to being a cop. If you don't want "stupid crap", why did you post it on a public forum?
