Call me ignorant but I have heard of this word (mustard oil) only recently (from a friend who found it on the internet). Is this a grocery item? Plus what are the name brands of it that are sold in the Philippines? In any case, are there other names for this oil?

Mustard oil is the oil produced from pressing mustard seeds. It is widely used in northern and eastern India for cooking.

The problem is that it has a very high proportion of erucic acid, up to 60 per cent, a toxic oil that can produce vomiting and diarhea, and causes fatty degeneration of the heart, kidney, adrenals, and thyroid as well as heart lesions. For this reason, most developed countries restrict the amount of erucic acid in food to 5 per cent or less.

I would not recommend it use even if you can find it.
