Why we say God the father,not the mother?

By this logic, Christians should believe that male is superior than female..

I think Islam does not give any sex to their God while in Hinduism the Gods have both sexes........

God though in reality has no sex prefers to refer himself as a He.
As God is spiritual and has no material body he requires no gender but the male gender take on the greater responsibility as they are given that role. God being the highest so God describes himself with male attributes. Women are to be treated with great respect and dignity. The husbands though taking headship of the household treats his wife like he would himself. He respects his wife's opinions and being in marriage a husband and wife become one flesh. What a remarkable arrangement.
There is no sexism in heaven that is a worldy problem because people refuse to obey God so bring great pains to themselves.

If you really understood the whole plan of happiness and everything that it involves, no woman would ever think that she is a second class citizen. Our Heavenly Father in his infinite wisdom loves our Heavenly Mother so much that he never wanted her name taken in vain the way his is, thus it is not revealed. That does not mean that she doesn't exist, nor that she takes a lower precedence to our Eternal Father in Heaven, both are important in the eternal scheme of things. There are just some things that we as mortals will have to wait to find out and also understand. In our puny little minds we can not even begin to understand or comprehend.

Good question. Have you ever considered that the bible calls all followers of Jesus to be brides of Christ, and also says we are all sons of God?

In the end, each time we refer to God, and each time he talks about us (in the bible) he uses and we use different analogies to outline different aspects of his personality. So God is like a father in the way he guides and punishes us (as any father does or should do). and he is like a mother in the way he cares and loves us and nurtures us through life.

why do we say father and not mother? simply because that is how JEsus addressed God. he said (and taught us to say) 'Father in heaven' (eg in the Lords Prayer).

so really it does not matter how to address God as long as you understand that he is more amazing that any word or idea can capture. If we say father, we miss all of his motherly aspects and qualities. if we say King we miss most of his caring and personal aspects and qualities. if we say mother we would missunderstand his guiding and punishing as a part of his love for us.

if we only understand God in one dimension then we will missunderstand him indeed.

But you would want to be sure that you fully understand God as both loving and careing and also the rightful king before you jump to the kind of conclusions that say that christians believe that male is superior to female.

that sort of idea is the stuff fiction thriller novels are made out of.
