Yes Its a sin ...
just remember what happen in Sodom & Gomorrah.

God gave man and woman complementary roles in order to strengthen the family unit. Woman was to be the helper that man needed (Genesis 2:18). However, the woman's role as the helpmate is certainly not an inferior one. The enterprising God-fearing woman in Proverbs 31:10-31 is an inspiring role

I always thought a sin was when you went against the ten commandments. And unless I'm mistaken, homosexuality isn't one of them.

Unfortunately, a lot of Christians think homosexuality IS a choice, and Jesus can deliver you from it. Also, somewhere in the Bible it says that homosexuality is an "abomination".

I personally believe that homosexuality is something you're born with. It's not a disease or a mental disorder, either. It's just a preference. That is one of the reasons I got away from Christianity. I couldn't stand being told that I was going to hell because I supported Gay Rights and had gay friends.

Well first, let me get one thing straight. As gays we do have a choice, and that's what Christians use to rub our noses in it. You always have a choice as to who you have sex with. What Christians don't realize is that we can't control who we find attractive, and who we fall in love with. I've never been sexually attracted to a woman in my life. I've loved many women, but I've only been IN love with guys. My point is their is choice involved, but choosing to be in a heterosexual relationship for a gay person is like choosing to watch a movie that you don't like, or choosing to eat food that you don't like the taste of.

Aside from that, being gay is a sin in Christianity because Christians believe that sex for any reason other than to have babies is immoral. However, they make exceptions in the case of married couples who are unable to have babies.

The real reason is Gays are an easy target. Christians can point the finger at a "sinner" so that they can feel better about themselves as they cheat on their wives with underage girls, or when their priest molests a little boy, they think they are somehow better than us because they think they have God. What they really have is issues.

Most Christians understand that everyone sins, and some even understand that some Gays are just a holy as they are. However, it's those in the other position that control the church.

It is a sin according to Christanity. Even if you think you don't have a choice I believe you do. There are alot of things you might feel like doing but can stop yourself. If you become a Christian you become a new person and Christ lives within you and you want want to do the same sinful things you did before. Why are there so many homosexuals today? Because Satan is the God of this world and he wants to lead people to hell. Believe what you want but if the bible is true than you will go to hell if you don't repent and turn from that sin.

Merely being gay is NOT a sin. Gays, like straight, are called to the exact same standards of chastity.

The temptation to engage in sexual activity with a member of the same sex must be resisted because it violates the natural order of sex.

Who's says so? God. He is, after all, the creator of nature as well as man.

Doesn't seem fair, though. Does it? Gays are called to abstain from all homo-centric temptations, in addition to following the standards for heteros.

None of this means a gay person can't be a good Christian. If a gay person were to honestly attempt a life of abstance, that person would be a model of chastity for ALL Christians to follow.

One could argue that gays have a special calling in the Church. They are called to be models of chastity; a valuable and much needed example for both straight and gay Christians.

While good Christians must tolerate one's homosexual tendancy, good Christians cannot condone homosexual behavior - among other sexually immoral acts as well.

It is a matter of "hating the sin, not the sinner."

We do not condemn gays. But frankly speaking, gays do not have spiritual rights! It's a sin because it's not God's will for a man to change his nature to a woman. Well, you can walk or act like one, but doing the gay activities is what makes it abominable. You cannot say you do not have a choice because we human beings have the freedom of choice. It's not taken away from us. We can always make a choice! You want to become a gay, that's your choice!

I haven't scrolled down completely, so if I'm repeating an answer please forgive me. Anyway.

We have choice in everything we do. I do not disagree that some people are born with an attraction to the same sex this can happen. But, these persons can fight that feeling. You have children who are born addicted to a particular drug (cocaine, heroin...). They weren't born like that by choice but nevertheless they were born like that. With that said, if they stay away from said drugs throughout their lives the likelihood of them ever becoming addicted to drugs is lessened.

So homosexuality becomes and issue of self control. The bible helps us to appreciate that in the time of the end that this something that men will be in short supply of (2 Tim 3:1-5) To suggest that God is asking you to do the impossible by staying away from adultery, fornication and homosexuality is not true. You must learn to control this urge just as many who face the challenge of premarital sex. Though the attraction may seem quite natural we must refrain from what displeases our Loving Creator.

Being gay in itself is not sin, but having sex with another man is. You can have urges and temptations without sinning, but when you actually commit a sexual act with a person of the same sex is when you have sinned. You have a choice of not committing the sinful act. God bless you!

Because the Bible says it is an abomination.

Some people DO choose it, granted not all. So I suppose for them, from a Christian view point, it would be a delibrate sin. And most Christians dont believe Homosexuality is something you are "born with".

Not my opinion, just saying what I have learned from years of Christian schooling.

because everything is a sin in christianity. according to christians, since no other god could possibly exist, that verse about having no other gods means anything you really like. TV, computer, your kitten....if it gets in the way of spending time with god its a sin.
that and the people that believe its a sin believe you have a choice. idiotic, but true.

I accept Gays for who they are and believe that God made us all for a reason. Also their is no record of Jesus saying that it was wrong to be Gay, I think it was Paul or someone long after Jesus died. Funny how Christians are supposed to be "Christ Like" in their ways and beliefs but can be such Hypocrites. I believe if Christ were alive he would talk to and be friends with Gays as he was a very accepting person and there wasn't anyone he would not be friends with.
