6-8 hours but it depends on the person. Some people require more sleep.
It's important to get the sleep at about the same time each night, so your body can develop a rhythm. Sleep before midnight is usually most beneficial.

I try to get about 8. You can train your body to survive on as little as 2 because when your body gets into the routine it can hyper sleep so you get really rested in a short amount of time. Having too much sleep is bad for you and more than 10 hours a night will cause brain cells to start to die.

I know that forever, people were saying 8 hours.
And other studies would show that it depended on your age. Certain amounts for younger and older and then a standard 8 typically for those in between.
A recent note at the back of a Discover magazine stated that people who receive only 6-7 hours of sleep on average live longer.
So that is my answer.
Hope that this helps.
Love as always,
Sebastian

A sound sleep of about 6-7hrs a day is sufficient for a healthy guy
It's not the quantity of sleep that is important but the quality of sleep is more important
