Generally I think that honesty is the best policy – however there are certain situations, where for the benefit of everyone involved, withholding the truth is most beneficial.
That really depends on your parents, your age (and maturity) and the circumstances surrounding how you broke the bone.
This question is very similar to the question of parental consent laws for abortion.
Quite frankly, there are some parents who will not react / behave properly when confronted with the truth about their own children – AND children have the right to proper health care – just like adults.
There are other parents who will over-react, or other wise behave poorly when confronted with some situation regarding their children. These parents are teaching their children to conceal things from them, and deserve to be lied to.
There are some parents who will choose to withhold proper medical care, because their child was injured doing something that the child was warned not to do (obviously for good reason) and the parent wants the child to experience the consequences of their actions. These parents also deserve to be lied to.
And what about the child? Is the child mature enough to begin to make his / her own medical decisions on his / her own?
Is the child ready to start to make adult decisions on his / her own?
Is the child prepared to deal with the consequences of deceiving their parents?
And finally – what is one lying about? Did you fall off the skateboard your mom told you not to ride? Screw that – lie to high heaven. Did the local bully break your arm because you didn’t have enough money to buy your security? Tell your parents pronto.
Clearly this is more complicated than a simple yes or no answer and involves a LOT of variables too numerous to ever answer completely. But then so is life.
So – I suppose that the answer to your questions is both Yes and No. Yes – in that under certain circumstances, it IS OK to lie about stuff – and No – in that ideally you will never have to encounter those circumstances.

Lying is bad, period. And, if you are lying to your parents about broken bones, that means that you were up to no good, or at least something you weren't supposed to be doing, so you're digging yourself an even deeper hole.
Honesty is the best policy, because the truth is easier to remember.

What did you do that you can't be honest????
Just tell the truth, otherwise it might come out later and then they will not be able to trust you anymore. If they are good parents, they will still love you and forgive you for whatever you did that caused the injury. Let them know that you have learned from your mistake and won't put yourself in situations like that again.
