God commanded us to remember the seventh day Sabbath. Why do most Christians not keep this commandment or keep it holy. Most Christians do their on pleasure on that day and wouldn't think twice about working on it. If you break the least of these commandments and teach men to do likewise you will be least in the kingdom of God. We should listen to God and not man that changed this holy day that God sanctified. Why don't more Christians get this. It was one of the first things the Holy Spirit began teaching me. We are not under God's law but they should be written on our hearts and we should want to do what is pleasing to him. If there's the least doubt that this could be true shouldn't we do what God said and not the traditions of men?

A Direct quote from an Anglican minister:

"And where are we told in the Scriptures that we are to keep the first day at all? We are commanded to keep the seventh; but we are nowhere commanded to keep the first day .... The reason why we keep the first day of the week holy instead of the seventh is for the same reason that we observe many other things, not because the Bible, but because the church has enjoined it."

You just said, We are not under God's Law", but then you complain about Christians violating the Sabbath. You have the wherewithall to acknowledge that God's Law is written in our hearts, not carved n stone - but you then immediately deny this ideal by citing Christianity's Sunday worship.

What kind of nonsense are you trying to pontificate?

If you are going to cite the Old Testament as proof of anything, it must be interpreted in light of the New Testament:

Isaiah 1:13 - God begins to reveal His displeasure with the Sabbath.

Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; John 20:1,19- the Gospel writers purposely reveal Jesus' resurrection and appearances were on Sunday. This is because Sunday had now become the most important day in the life of the Church.

Acts 20:7 - this text shows the apostolic tradition of gathering together to celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday, the "first day of the week." Luke documents the principle worship was on Sunday because this was one of the departures from the Jewish form of worship.

1 Cor. 16:2 - Paul instructs the Corinthians to make contributions to the churches "on the first day of the week," which is Sunday. This is because the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday.

Col. 2:16-17 - Paul teaches that the Sabbath was only a shadow of what was fulfilled in Christ, and says "let no one pass judgment any more over a Sabbath."

2 Thess. 2:15 - we are to hold fast to apostolic tradition, whether it is oral or written. The 2,000 year-old tradition of the Church is that the apostles changed the Sabbath day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.

Heb. 4:8-9 - regarding the day of rest, if Joshua had given rest, God would not later speak of "another day," which is Sunday, the new Sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week and the first day of the new creation brought about by our Lord's resurrection, which was on Sunday.

Heb. 7:12 - when there is a change in the priesthood, there is a change in the law as well. Because we have a new Priest and a new sacrifice, we also have a new day of worship, which is Sunday.

Rev 1:10 - John specifically points out that he witnesses the heavenly Eucharistic liturgy on Sunday, the Lord's day, the new day of rest in Christ.

Matt. 16:19; 18:18 - whatever the Church binds on earth is bound in heaven. Since the resurrection, Mass has been principally celebrated on Sunday.

I don't know who you are listening to but it is definitively NOT the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit would NEVER contradict His Truths revealed in the Bible.

You are being mislead. Always, always, always, test personal revelations by comparing them with Doctrine. That is how you can tell whether you are being lead by an angel or mislead by a demon.

There is no need for Christians to hold to worship on the Saturday Sabbath. The commandment spoken of is part of the Law of Moses. The Law was an exclusive covenant between Israel and God. The Law was intended to point the Jews to Jesus Christ. See Galatians chapter 3. Worship of God can be done freely on any day.

The Law contained 613 commandments and to be considered perfect one had to keep every single one. To break one commandment would be to violate the entire Law. See James 2:10-11.

When Gentiles came to be included in the church, some said that they had to be circumcised and keep the Law of Moses while others did not agree. The Jerusalem council deemed that Gentiles were not under the Law but they were to not do four things so as to not offend their Jewish brother. See Acts chapter 15.

Paul taught that no one is under the Law. The only law upon a Christian is to love God and love people. See Romans 13:8-10. This is of course the greatest commandment: see Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Luke 10:27.

Jesus himself broke the Sabbath. See Mark 3:1-6 and John 5:16-18. Not only did Jesus break the Sabbath but He broke other commandments in the Law. For instance, he touched a coffin (see Luke 7:14) and a dead person (see Luke 8:40-54). These things would have constituted violation of the Law. See Numbers 19:11. He also touched lepers (see Matthew 8:3; Mark 1:41; Luke 5:13) which made him unclean (see Numbers 19:22).

God said He would stop Israel's Sabbaths. See Hosea 2:11.

There is no spiritual benefit for anyone to try to maintain relationship with God based on a covenant that was exclusively for Israel. The sabbath was a type of the rest we would find under the New Covenant in Jesus Christ. I am content with the New Covenant which promises better things as stated in Hebrews.

some christians made saturday the worship day. The commandment of God tells us to worship Him on the first day of the week. Well, the day is not really important. God doesnt care about the day. You can worship him on Monday, tuesday, wednesday or any day of the week. What is important is your spirit. Are you a son or a daughter of God? Have you repented of you sins? Have you surrendered the serpent seed within you which you have inherited from Adam and Eve? Think of these questions first. Then ask youself, have you entered the Kingdom of God? If you have not, then your sabbath worship will not get you to your heaven. There is only one heaven that is open today and that is the Kingdom Heaven. Your Saturday heaven is already phased out. No offense intended, but you have to know this.

I dont know that is a great question, and getting off topic a bit.. deadgumit dont post on these types of questions if your going to be a smart ***, judge judith. And honestly I really didnt know that the true sabbath day was saturday, did not know, well i do now and i think you but you see every other christian has moved it to sunday and thats hard to change cause we thought it was that day i guess. But there are biggger questions that that, for example, christianity is the only religion in the entire world being persicuted, not any other, and people still beleive in this evolutionary ****, psh (forgive me for cursing for i'm not the peaceful type of christian, im a crusader type) and like my youth minister said. We christians are being sissy banding up in these churches, we need to get out and annonce the Jesus's name and take back what is rightfully His.

We need to push the weekends off again, I don't know why we as Americans have become so obsessed with a 7day a week world. We need to slow down with the way that we are driving America. All our time is going to the stores, Walmart, and not giving our devotion to the family. We are so caught up in the materialistic values of the rich and famous that we all want to be rich or better off than the next that we tend to forget the most important things in life, including God.

Because since it was change by the Romans (not by God), many people since then have kept doing what they were taught by tradition and by pressure, now most people think that it was change to Sunday after Jesus resurrect from the death. But it says in Luke, and Hebrews that Sabbath is for us; Jesus said in Matthew, "pray that your flight not be on the sabbath" (which mean He expect us still keep it when He come back)! And Genesis says morning is from sundown to sundown,
not sunup to sunup; so it from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset.
Most people ignorant of this, they think offend to believe not Sunday!
We should obey God, not 'people' who every day is "Sin-Day"!
By the way, remember someone say we should read our Bible every morning to start the day? Real "morning" is at sunset, halleluia! That when new day truely starts. This is Genesis 1!

Many Christians just don't realize that the true Sabbath of the bible is Friday nightfall to Saturday nightfall. They are not doing it out of rebellion but out of tradition. I am a Sabbath keeper. Seventh Day Baptist http://www.seventhdaybaptist.org/7db/Default_EN.asp
It's interesting to note that most calendars are actually "Sabbath calendars" with Sunday being the first day of the week.
I found a website that gives a brilliant full explanation of the sabbath. http://plainlydressed.bravepages.com/sabbathfile.html
I just came across that 2nd website and it is not sponsored by the SDB church.
God Bless!

Visit the below link. We are a religious group/church who believe as you do. We meet every weekday at 8:00 PM (Central Time) and Sabbath day at noon in our POGM Conference Rooms online. Come in sometime, introduce yourself. God bless you!

P.S.- In answer to your question, it was the Pope who changed the Sabbath, and Protestants followed suit.
