Most people know that there are many similarities between Jesus and Krishna, Attis, Dionysys, Osiris and Mithras. These Similarities Includes “virgin birth, dying on cross, godly status, ressurection, etc.

Know tell me, why would God send Jesus to “imitate” these myths (that is if Jesus was meant to die on a cross for atonement of sins)? Wouldn't God then be like a copycat? Surely God would do not want Jesus to have similar qualities to the other “myths” since God is the one true god.

I see someone has been reading The Da Vinci Code again... (I just LOVE mentioning that book in here, LOL)

Actually though, the merging of pagan beliefs and Christian beliefs as portrayed in that book are fairly accurate. Something the book does not go into in any great detail is the lengths to which the early Catholic church went in stamping out pagan practices throughout Europe.

One well documented example is their repeated church building on sites that were considered sacred to other religions. Two of the primary reasons for doing this are that they 1. are already associated as social places and places of worship by locals, and 2. (the more sinister) "my God can beat up your god" message in the act. Europe is littered with Christian churches built on top of pagan shrines.

That is why many European churches have incorporated local pagan customs as part of their individual belief structure. Step one, take over the holy site. Step two, adopt seemingly harmless activities into the worship ceremonies to attract locals, Step three, convert the locals, and downplay the adopted practices over time. One only needs to study the conversion of Iceland or Scandinavia to Christianity to recognize the methods employed by the early church.

Today they are a little more direct and base their conversions of the "heathen" on economics.

The Da Vinci Code covered much of the symbolism that was stolen from more ancient religions and placed it all in a neat package of "goddess worship", and contains a few fleeting passages about the demonization of male deities. However, that is really only the tip of the iceberg. The Catholic church demonized literally every aspect of life that did not conform to the accepted dogma of the faith. This is also something that is only touched upon briefly in the book. I suppose though, that there had to be some room in the book to tell a story too, so it's not really too surprising.

Your closing statement that God is the one true God is flawed on many levels. The first of which is that the Jehova, or Yahweh, is a tribal god with no more or less validity than any other. He is a brutal as they come, and more evil as a theological choice than
most. He is the root of Christianity, for without Jehovah, and Jehovah worship, Jesus would not have existed as a rabbi or a god. Jehovah worship is the root of Jesus life.

Just because Jehovah worship, or Jesus worship is popular, does not make the faith any more viable than any other doctrine. Many unpopular ideologies have proven themselves to be right, and many popular beliefs have been proven wrong.

If you actually take the time to read the Bible, and understand it, Jehovah is a buffoon, and Jesus is little more than a convenient excuse to end his reign among the Jews. When that failed, it was simply easier to gain the wealth and power that religion brings by taking the heretical message of Jesus to the Gentiles.

No, god is not a copycat, but people are. The concept of god is fairly similar across disparate cultures because the notion of "god" arises from common human psychological conditions, like fear, guilt, and hate. God is propped up to justify all kinds of things, and these emotions are common to all humans, regardless of whether they originated in Australia or Jerusalem.

To make a long story short, "god" is created by the human psychological and social condition, and that's why you see so many similarities.

But God's Word has been since the beginning. So these myths would be copycats of God and God know those things He has planned that people my not have seen happen yet. I personally don't know of the myths your talking about. God keep you..k

Expand your mind.

There are archetypes that pop up in most world religions involving virgin births, a savior, one main god, and a major catastrophe.

Its not so much that God would not want Jesus to have similar qualities.

Its more like God had different manifestations to different people in different parts of the world.

Because these people are different, the god(s), people, and stories have different names. They are customized to fit the needs of that culture. So of course Jesus would have a different name in a different culture that uses a different language. Its the same character none the less.

In my opinion its the same God appearing to different people, with the same ancient story revamped each time it is told to fit the needs of the culture and generation of its time.

theres a great reason for this.
because most mythologies are similar to each other. theres almost always a fertility goddess that gives birth to the 'son' of whoever is the highest god, and this god generally ends up dying, but will return...
for example balder from Norse mythos.

It all goes back to the fallen angels they posed as Gods. They fell from heaven and taught ancient man about technology and other things. They gave us knowledge and this was before Christ. They did this on purpose to cause confusion and lead people astray from the true God.
