I dont understand why people say they turned on God, or stopped believing in him because he didn't answer their prayers.
God only answers prayers in accordance to His will. If you, as a Christian, are not supposed to have it, no amount of prayer will change that. And why would he answer them, if you are so easily turned away from him, nothing would ever be good enough.

For instance, when I first became pregnant, I prayed everyday to suddenly not be pregnant. Miscarry if you will, and I prayed and prayed. My daughter is now 10, and the best thing that ever happened to me. God did not give me what I wanted at the time, and wothin a year I saw he gave me exactly what I needed, when I needed it, even though I didn't realize it at the time.

Isn't it possible the unanswered prayer is sometimes the answer?

Since we are God's children, He wants the best for us. He knew us before we were born and numbers every hair on our head. When we pray for things that are outside His will and our prayers are not answered, that, as you say, is our answer.

Matthew 26:39 (NIV) Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

God did not answer Jesus' prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane because He loves us so much He needed to make a way for us to come to Him, through His Son, Jesus.

To my mind, that is the ultimate act of love and a perfect example of a prayer not answered that was for the best for His children.

PS: There is an old saying "Be careful what you pray for, you might get it." I try to keep that in mind when I pray.

As I see it. My prayers where never ever let down. Prayers are directly proportional to the faith I have in God, and lot more things go into it. If it where not answered. Either it was not in my long term interest or I had deficiency in my belief.

In fact he thrills when he gives what I want. Way he gives it make me say he is great.

It all depends how you look at God. How perceive and then how you conceive. All what I have I understood is because of him. I have understood my intelligence is mediocre but I am classed as best among people around me. God has never failed.

It depends on person to person. How they look at God.

My judgement if want to your prayers to be answer look at God beyond religion. Out of the box thinking is needed to understand him.

It is crazy for us to understand anyone based on book or books. It is insane.

If you can understand God rightly that I wonder like me your prayer will never go unheard or replied.

Truth is sometimes he gives before I as. Always better than what I ask.

Well, first of all God is not a soda machine that you put a quarter in and get what you want instantly. Second, God ALWAYS answers prayer. Sometimes the answer is NO. But there is no such thing as unanswered prayers.

Hun , all things happen because God has a porous in our liefs , so what every we pray, or what ever we are going to God has a reason , it some where in life he is trying to get you to. an God answer prayers, but it depends on what type of prayer you are praying, like why would God answer a prayer that was meant for the devil, or why would he hear a sinner pray, when he or she has not repented of sin, before asking, so it just depends on how you pray, what i say always it not what your going through but where your going to. trust God an have faith, if you going to pray don't worriess if your going to worrie don't pray.

the true answer to the question is there is more than one type of prayer in the Word, their is petition prayer or prayer of faith and these prayers of demand must be based upon the promises Of God so no according to the word 2 cor 1 study it all the promises of God like healing or prosperity or deliverance and protection are always yes never no. now The only time God says no is when you ask outside his will for you personally like for instance do i move to asia yes or no. thats consecration prayer and those answers are yes no or wait but all the promises are always yes and so be it in Him!

I agree, and I'm glad you have a daughter.

Sometimes, in addition to praying, you must have "holy hands". Your prayers should be done with a good heart, and have God's plan for the world in mind.

The prayer is answered, but probably in different ways.

For instance, one prays for his parents to buy him a videogame. They never buy the game, but instead buy him a set of books. The child gets more in educational benefits.

Basically, when you're praying, you pray for well-being, and forgiveness of sins. That's usually what is attuned to.

God is always out to help you, just in different ways.

At most every Mass I offer, we do a set of prayers under the title of Intercessions...needs of a person, community, etc. At the end I offer this prayer...Answer our needs oh Lord, not as we would have it, but as you would have it...Amen.

Remember the old teaching, "That our ways is not His ways and our Time not His time?"

More often then not we do not get what we want. A version of it, via another situation you might get. But if so you will clearly know that it is "God Sent".

"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him,that if we ask anything according to His will,He hears us"(1 John 5:14).
Although our prayers have the potential to be powerful in your life, there is a limit to what they can accomplish if you will is opposed to the will of God. He wants us to pray about all things, but he wants us to pray according to His will. That's why it's important to ask God to reveal His will to us and help us pray accordingly. We cant force God to do our bidding either. It's his will not ours that will be done.

Yes, very possible. It's like what you said, if it is not in accordance to God's will, ain't no amount of heafty prayin' gonna change his mind.

All things that happen happen for a reason under God's will of course

The book mentioned below provides some guidance to all those matters
