Lovebirds can eat a variety of things - do not feed only dry seed mixes, but also sprouted seeds and grains, some chopped seasonal vegetables (kale, lettuce, arugula, carrot, etc) and a little fruit like apple or pear(they do not like much fruit), plus some soaked and cooked mung beans, adzuki beans, lentils, peas or chickpeas (garbanzos). These last few things can also be soaked for at least 12 hours and then sprouted till they have little sprouts of about at least 1/4 inch. You can clip green leafy veg to the sides of the cage too, as they like that. And don't forget to supply milet sprays in the cage a couple of times per week.
Please do not feed any pellets - contrary to what many pet shops will tell you (they are only interested in selling the junk), and what many internet sites tell you too. This is a real junk food for parrots, and smaller parrots, who cannot assimilate all the synthetic vitamins these foods contain, can suffer severe heatlh problems over time. Stick to the fresh healthy foods, and a good dry seed mix.
