Here are the reviews of the Canon PowerShot S2 IS (from B&H Photo Video). I posted mainly problems occured with the item, because the reviews are basically the same.
-The manual zoom is one of the most difficult to use, also not
incredibly effective or accurate
-The lens cap falls off easily. It has no clips of any sort, just a vacuum-type system of keeping it on. It always falls off when I put it in or take it out of the case.
Something else to note is not about the camera, but the case
that Canon makes specifically for it. While it is nice in the
sense that it is not bulky, and it is well made, there is
absolutely NO room for extra batteries, filters, etc. It is hard
enough to squeeze an extra SD card or two in it.
-No flash hot-shoe or PC connection for an auxiliary flash. No
connection for a cable or shutter release. Poorly designed
manual focus (almost non-existent). The NM-H batteries work
poorly in the cold. Re-design the camera to be powered by L-
Ion batteries.
-Arc shadow when using lens adapter with hood.
-My hand keeps hitting the manual focus button causing some pictures to be out of focus. I'm probably holding the camera wrong and will get used to it but yeah, I love this thing.
-Despite having an AF-assist light, the S2 IS has problems
focusing in low light at full telephoto.
