It's always a sweet idea, to occasionally, treat a boyfriend to dinner, especially if he usually pays. It will be unexpected and he will appreciate it.

Yes I think you should. It's just because sometimes it's nice to feel free to order and not pay especially when a girlfriend does that to me after paying all of our dinners out before. But, this is fine once in a blue moon.

It depends on how long you have been together. I always think it is polite to offer to go dutch (but secretly think it a gentlemanly move for the man to pay....call me old fashioned!) However, if you have been seeing each other a while, then it is a good idea to start helping out, otherwise in time, eating out will become too costly for your boyfriend, and he will stop taking you out for meals. If he won't accept your money, then offer to cook him a nice romantic meal at home to repay the favour. Bon appetite.

You have a good man. A man who expects the women to pay all the time is only using her. You could set up a romantic candle lit dinner in a hotel suit with a hot tub. You could pick up the tab. You could surprise him with it. Have room service with champagen. Flowers and candles. This would show how much you care.

If you and your bf are only seeing eachother, I think it is ok for him to pay, but if you are seeing others and he is just a friend, then I feel it should be dutch, so that You don't feel obligated.

I pay sometimes. It seems like my bf has a lot more respect and actually puts out a little more loot these days.

It depends on your situation. I have had times when I travelled to where he was to be with him, so he paid for dinner and whatever else we did while I was there. I often offer to pay at least my share, except for when he is wooing me by being a gentleman.

there is nothing wrong with sharing the bill, as long as you have the money to do so. it would probably help your boyfriend a lot. i'm 17 and i know i would love the help paying for entertainment, as it does get expencive from time to time.
but if he insists... by all means let him fork out the cash

It would be nice and the polite thing to do is offer to pay if you can afford too. I am a guy and I would feel it would show that you care.
