They were offended at Jesus. They all knew Him and now He was telling them the way to God and they did not want to receive Him.

There were actually 3 Judas' named in the NT. Jesus had a half brother named Judas he would have been Judas of Nazareth or Judas son of Joseph. Another Judas the one who betrayed Him was Judas Iscariot see Mark 14:10. There was also another apostle named Judas he was the son of James mentioned in Luke 6:16. Hope that helps.

Some people believe Judas was his cousin, and also an heir to David's throne. I wonder if he wasn't a fund raiser, for an early PLO. Many people, as told in the book of Matthew, believed the messiah would return, as the 'Son of David', and reestablish Judeah as a monarchy. The flaw in their plan wasn't fully realized, until Jesus went to Gethsemane.
They had no use for a martyr, resurrected or not. Jesus had been offered the job, but turned it down when he was in the desert for forty days. I suspect the devil he spoke to, was either Judas, or one of Judas's superiors.
In any case, Judas had an inordinate interest in Jesus's purse. It explains to me, why Judas was so disgusted with thirty pieces of silver. A pittance, compared to what he would have controlled if the messiah hadn't picked up his cross.

This same sentiment, pervades many interpretations of Christ's second coming. Many expect a King, even though many have never lived under a King. And they expect a Judas, and a John the Babtist (another cousin).

Unfortunately for us, Judas died before he could get the good news (he is risen). He could never give us an inspired word for money. We're still stuck with the 'den of thieves', that angered Jesus so much.

I don't see exactly how these Scriptures relate to your question. Because in Matt. 13:55-57. The people are offended because they know Jesus's family and know that Joseph was a carpenter which isn't exactly a high honor to most people. They did not see any reason why Jesus had the knowledge that He did and therefore they were offended by Jesus's presence because their authority was challenged by the son of Mary.

"Where did He get this authority?" They thought. Notice verse 57. Jesus said... A Prophet is with out honor in his own country. Because what Jesus is saying is the people who were around you as a child and around your family remember you before God allowed you to speak on His behalf and therefore as a result those people don't see you as God has called you and therefore get offended because they think they are better because they have been around learning longer. What the people didn't know was Jesus is The Son Of God and they don't God chooses who He wants to be one of His Prophets. Did I explain that right? God Bless and Keep you and you Keep Him...k Hope I helped.
