As already suggested, Google Earth is a very useful program, it's free and it's in color. It has probably the best high resolution coverage of the US of any of the free satellite photo sites. You can download it here:

For an even more interesting shot of your neighborhood, Microsoft's Live Local has a slant angle or "bird's eye view" feature on their site that takes you down to a few hundred feet over your house, in color. Not all areas are covered by the bird's eye feature, though.

Try this link: Terraserver.com. It is very interesting. Will give you a bird's eye view of your house.

Try Google Maps. They have this satellite photo feature that is amazing. I saw my parked car on the street.

lots of people are in business just to do things like that....my aunt has a photo of her whole farm.....try key words like sky shots and then your location.....you may be surprised.
