The pros and cons:
Pros:
1) The sun. Aah bliss!
2) The sun
3} The sun!
4) Great sweets, massive shopping malls, cheap to eat out, (not so much to eat in), huge cars, huge roads, (but virtually no sidewalks)
Cons:
1) The George Bush administration - Are you guys going to be able to make a reasonable living without your both having to work ALL the time? And don't count on much help from the government if you can't afford to make a decent living. The motto over there is 'every man for himself'
2) Water - you can't drink it
3) A national health service - there is none and if yours or your husband's job doesn't come with decent medical cover for the two of you, it's going to be expensive.
4) The South - a little isolated, a very 'right-wing' state. And if your child happens to be gay... or a Liberal... oooh dear. Flags outside the houses, guns inside the houses, plenty of gun shops, plenty of strip joints.
5) And when the weather's bad it's Hurricane Katrina bad...
Having said all that I don't think I could survive another British winter...

Weigh things out very carefully before u make a move, like job prospects for the both of u,& the like.Dont let the sunny climate of Florida help make ur decision...living in another country is so much more than the golden beaches.England will be extremely good for ur child, for education & development of the personality as a whole, unless u send ur child to a pvt.school.Thers's a lot of calm collected thinking before u take a decision

Depends where in Florida. Miami is hot as hell in the Summer. However, Pensacola (further upstate) is better.
Also do you want to live in the US or do you like being in the UK ? Are you doing this for mainly income reasons or do you both really want to live in the US ? If either one of you isn't sure, don't move - stay put. Big move for just a maybe, mate.

you come here too Florida and I'll stay at your place? is that a good deal?
why don't you and your hubby move to Florida while your baby is small so you can see if you like it. like 6 months in the UK and 6 months in Florida.
all the sun and fun isn't what it's cracked up too be. you will get here and not like all the heat. it's very hot!!
I'm melting now!

It depends what part of florida you'd be moving to. I live in northeast florida, and between the fires and hurricanes every year, I wouldnt recommend it.

Move to Canada... The UK is totally wrong for bringing up a child (I should know)... And the US (particularly Florida) is a very dangerous place... You got gangs, you got hurricanes...

sure you should move, but that's only if you like hurricanes and dangerous floridians. Also, isn't UK amazingly fun to live in? You get to meet J.K. Rowlings.
