Arf Bee: don't judge something without experiencing it first. I forgive you for your ignorance.

frybread: yes I have. I've spent a lot of time in her presence. Closest she gets to Wyoming is Iowa every summer.

Mash: of course everyone has their own individual path on what feels right for them. Yet don't make generalized statements like "oh it's a fad" because each person's experiences cannot be bundled along with others. They are unique and plus making judgments about a person without meeting them does not make it truth. Saying one guru is like all gurus is not the truth. I take my spirituality seriously. I have for 18 years.

Not yet, but she will be in Dallas, TX in July and my satsang and I are planning to go down there. Atleast two people in our satsang has received Amma's embrace and has told us that we should go. I did get to meet Paramahamsa Sri Nithyananda Swamiji and receive a blessing by him. That was really awesome. I have heard so much about Amma that I am excited about going to see her finally. When I first moved from my hometown (where I grew up) to where I live now the Amma satsang in one of the suburbs was one of the first satsangs I was able to find. I eventually started the satsang in the suburb I live in (since the two are over an hour apart from each other, so it was quite a drive just to get to the other suburb and then on top of that it meets at the home of one of its members and that was even further). The satsang I organize is not specific towards Amma or even of any one denomation of Hinduism. It is just a satsang full of Hindus, Buddhists, Pagans, and so on that happen to meet, do puja, sing kirtans, read the Bhagavad Gita or other sacred texts and discuss our perspectives on what we read, to meditate, and to just share and fellowship with one another. Although, our satsang and the Amma satsang do remain close as we are also close with my satsang from my hometown, too.

Will you be going to see Amma this year, too?

Peace be with you!

I have not and this not becuase i have any disregard for her, its just that she may be an enlighten person herself but we cannot achive what she has achieved just by following her. Everyone finds God in his own unique way and there in not set path or a fixed road to him. Yes you can get good vidbes and a good motivation if you work on yourself under the guidance of a able guru but having a guri of ones own has become more ofa fad these days rather than a serious attempt towards spirituality

* i Don't mean to offend you in any way. You have all the right to follow your heart. But what i feel strange is that why should you wish for others approval of your own belief. If you feel good in her presence its just fine, but your question here looks more like a reassurance though other peoples agreement. If many people here say 'yes' you will feel good about it and that only indicates a reassurance in what you believe - a yes from others to bolster your own belief.

I don't believe I have or want to either. Although I haven't the slightest clue what that is anyway.
