The safest speed on a freeway is to travel at the same speed as the rest of the cars in your traffic lane. If you travel faster than the rest of the traffic, you'll draw attention to yourself and invite some personal attention from local law enforcement officials. If you drive too slowly, you'll cause problems for the cars approaching you from behind, and may cause an accident, so don't worry about the speed... just try to blend in with the rest of the traffic and you should be OK.

The safest for you is what you feel comfortable with but not much over 70. Keep with the flow of traffic but not much over 70 And one more thing 70 means 70 or less

Take it from me, who have had many speeding tickets and got pulled over without my insurance card. Paid my ticket and then was pulled over again, only to find out there was a warrant out for my rest since I failed to show proof of insurance from lasts ticket. ( I do have insurance) I was hauled of to jail, book, finger printed, photo taken and thrown in a cell. Plus I had to post five hundred in bail.I sat there for five hours while they tried to contact the county I had the first speeding ticket in. Then I found out since I did not show proof of insurance from the first time they suspended my drivers lic. I found this out at a later date, when I again was pulled over. This was before my court date to prove that I had insurance. I went to court and showed my proof of insurance. Alot of hassel, my own fault for not having my insurance card in car. Now it is there all the time. In my advice do not speed. If I get one more traffic violation in the next so many years I loose my lic. for one year. Now I stay just under 70 to be safe..... But here is a good tip , if you are in a hurry and the drivers in the fast lane are going to slow. Turn on your hazzards. I gurantee cars will get out of the way for you.... I have done this many times. Well I dont anymore.

65 is the perfect speed even though I would go like 90 on a 70mph zone.
